I had barely written about the "Pull out Frog" or I got a message from my friend Dive Frogger again. I had misunderstood the name "Pull out Frog". I didn't get it about the DW-6300, but now I understand. On the overseas models of the DW-6300 and DW-8200 the frog on the Screw Back is left away. This explains why a DW-6300 also can be called a "Pull out Frog", because it simply doesn't have a EL-Backlight.
Friday I finished the Horizontal Accuracy test (see also the news of Friday, November 24th.). The page is now reachable under stories, since I didn't know where to link it else. I think I had some other results than I expected. Most G-Shock's were more than 10 seconds fast, while I though most would be more accurate. It was quiet fun though, since I first couldn't find a calculator that could calculate the Standard Deviation and I had to calculate σ(n-1) myself with the help of pen and a paper...
I was looking around which G-Shock were available on eBay at the moment. Frankly I haven't bought many G-Shock via eBay last months. I'm fed up by browsing so many fake Frogman and G-2000 models. During browsing my eye fell on this Michael Lau mini figure, wearing a G-Shock. I posted a pretty low bid, assuming actually I wouldn't win this item. To my big surprise I won. The shipping costs were actually 3 times higher than the winning bid, ha ha.

I also passed a DW-002 Bob Marley yesterday. It was pretty worn out, so I guess a price over €25.- would be too high. I think I must try to get one or more of those next year. It has the Cannabis Sativa (hemp) leaf in it's EL logo, which is the symbol of Reggae music. Since in our country the use of hemp is more or less legal and sold in many Coffee Shops everywhere in our country, it's actually not very special. Walking around with hemp leafs, as many US rappers do on their shirts, is here considered childish. You won't see someone walking around with a cigarette on his shirt somewhere else because he smokes.

I got a mail from Jochen. He had a "little" accident when he was biking in a forest on December 16th. During a jump from a ramp his front wheel dived too early, so he missed the landing ramp. He went over the bar and crushed down his helmet. Luckily he wasn't alone, so after the ambulance had found them in the forest, he was brought to the hospital. He had 5 damaged spines and had to stay for 9 days in hospital, so yesterday he came home and was able to mail me. His wife (he just married in September) was glad he was at home for Christmas, although he can't sit longer than 30 minutes for now. He wrote me he could start biking again in 12 weeks.
I took pictures of 2 students for the G-People Section. Actually I loved to have a third entry. When I was working as a camera operator on a Mozart happening I saw a student from our regional high school or the Roosevelt Academy wearing a Baby-G. Unfortunately I didn't have a camera with me, else I would have asked her. It was in a beautiful XVIIth Century church, decorated for Christmas.

We just finished out Christmas Breakfast. Bram found a small surprise under the Christmas tree. Santa had brought him a book. " The B.G.F." by Roald Dahl, one of his favorite stories. My mother in Law will come over this afternoon to help us cook Christmas Dinner. We will go out for a walk on the beach first I guess. I wish you all a great Christmas and 2007 filled with joy!

Bram is sick and staying home today. Since Eva is working I couldn't go to my work the first few hours, so I updated G-Peopleland with 3 new models and 1 refreshed page.
I first refreshed the old DW-8200 Frogman page with better detailed pictures on the second page. The huge amount of Fake Frogman coming from China makes a lot of people contact me about a Frogman they want to buy or bought asking me if it is real. I got a message from Dive Frogger that my version is called the "Pull out Frog" model in Japan, because the overseas models don't have a frog in their EL backlight.
A few weeks ago I got a funny G-Mix GM-100 model. It was a model I wanted for a long time, but never could find. It was up on the sales corner of Watch U Seek for about 8 minutes before I bought it.... It has the loudest alarm I have ever heard! The hourly chime woke me up every hour in my bedroom at night.

The Mudman Golden Eye has a nice place on the website, as also the yellow/brown Jam'in Color G-5500. I think it's the nicest Jam'in Color I have until now.
I got a good offer for a real G-2000 yesterday. The seller will hold it until I can pay for it. Although a large portion of my Christmas bonus will go linea directa to the tax bill I got last week, I think there will be some money left for that G-2000. I also want a second yellow/brown Jam'in Color G-5500 to wear and the grey white Jam'in Brown G-9000 Mudman.
Eva just arrived, so it's time to pick my things and go to school. Enjoy my new pages.

Friday, December 15th 2006,
Probably one of the last updates this year, although I have to put up some new pages. The dark days before Christmas have begun, but all houses in the neighborhood have those Christmas lights everywhere to ease the feeling.

These
kind of lighting also gives inspiration for pictures of my newly acquired
G-Shock's. Maybe I should giving that snowman too much Glühwein. Too bad I
got an unexpected high Tax bill too (I could have bought at least 6 Jam'in
Mudmans or two good Hard Disk Video recorders for that money)
.
My Mudman Gold Eye has received earlier this week. I was watching a TV show when I noticed those nice glittering lights somewhere in the back of our house. Of course I couldn't resist to make a cozy nest for my new Muddy.

Another nice watch arrived. Another Jam'in Color G-5500 model, this time the brown/yellowish one. It ended up in a lighted star in another window. Gordon (see guestbook) suggested this is a very festive way to keep it charged.
I got some new nice pics from Jochen. Not of his new watch case he made unfortunately. He ordered a large amount of magnets, but weren't strong enough for his construction.

Meanwhile finishing activities on the lab, I made a colorful picture of my M.I.B. Mudman is Sheep Clothes. Enjoy these small pics.

I hope to make new pages for my new acquires soon, until then......

Sunday, December 3rd 2006,
A page for the Jam'in Color Mudman and G-5500 has been made. These models make me taste for more. I think I will look out for the other two G-9000 and G-5500 models of this series. It looks like the Mudman become a very popular item in my collection. In the little spare time I had yesterday, I bought a DW-8400 Mudman Gold Eye from a good friend of me. Here's a pic from the seller. I hope to make my own soon.

Yesterday we celebrated "Sinterklaas" early, since it's normally celebrated on December 5th. Bram was very happy with his "Pirates of the Caribbean Skull Crusher" race track. I was very content with "Comics in Stereo" and a load of hot sauces of the world kitchen. Yummy.
Bram also got the Lego "Knights Kingdom" board game. I couldn't resist to use it as a background of several pictures.

Wednesday, November 29th 2006,
Yesterday I found a nice package on my computer desk when I got home. The Jam' in Color G-5500 and G-9000 finally arrived. I took several pictures yesterday for new pages here. Here some nice ones:

Too bad I'm broke. I would like to have the other two Jam' in Color G-5500 and g-9000 too. They also look very nice. I hope Casio now will ease down a bit on the new models (or make G-Shock models I don't like, whatever), so I can save a little money (for a new Disk Brake claw for instance)...
Yesterday morning when I woke up, I saw my "Fieldmesse" altimeter hike watch was dead. These altimeters drain CR-2032 batteries. I took it with me to school to replace the battery there in a spare moment. When I got down this morning, I heard a ticking sound coming from my computer desk. This time my Cateye AT-110 Altimeter for hiking, skiing and (delta or parapente) flying had an almost dead battery. Looks like they had an agreement with each other.
One that didn't have a dead battery at
all is my GM-100. In the add the seller had mentioned it came with a very fresh
battery and indeed, it must be... I had turned on the hourly signal (polyphone!)
and left it in my bedroom. After two nights of waking up every whole hour I have
turned of the signal. Fun to wear at the office. It sounds like a cell phone
going off. I would love to have original straps on this one, but one thing is
for sure. This is the LOUDEST G I have ever seen
.

Although I may have one of the newest G-Shock models "in da House" now, I'm actually wearing a good old vintage DW-6700 Skyforce. The biggest G-Shock probably ever made and very impressive. It looks like I'm into sensor devices these days...
------------------------------
Monday, November 27th 2006,
I found my DW-56RT Referee Timer in one of my boxes upstairs and made several pictures of it. You will find it on this page.
Mr. Yachtrays is trying to help me on the DW-6900R Rhythm It B-Boy. So far no info, what not says it isn't a beautiful watch!
I got a funny e-Mail from Jochen. He gave me two pictures of him underground in a German cave. He told he even dived in flooded areas without diving equipment. Nothing for me, but of course his yellow DW-002 survived everything.
My second bike, the Bulls 7.50 Disc, has serious problems with the front disk brake. My brother Paul crashed down a steep slope last week with that bike, and I'm afraid the brake claw is damaged. It looks like one of the pads inside is blocked. I hope it doesn't cost me a new claw.

Sinterklaas is back in our country and a lot of our daily activities are tuned to the festivities going with that. Saturday the Saint visited a small village near by and Bram was very excited. We are of course very excited what we get this year from the good holy man.

Friday, November 24th 2006,
Something went wrong with my Jam'in Color G-Shock's, but now it's solved. Apparently I missed a mail, probably due to the amount of spam I get daily. Anyhow, I'm happy everything is right now and actually the watches are on the way straight from Japan to me.
Some people inspired me to put up an accuracy test. I have yesterday put up 72 G-Shock's, grouped in modules. I have set them all to atomic time and put them in a big box. On December 22 (30 days after dato) I will look what the deviation is. Here you can find the beginning of the test and some pictures.
Yesterday I got a a very nice musical G-Shock of the G'Mix series. It's the GM-100. I always thought it would not possible for me to get one, because I have never seen them outside Japan. Mine does not have the original watchband.
In August I got a Referee Timer (DW-56RT). Somehow I have forgotten to make a page for it. Now I have to look for it, because I haven't seen it around for a while.
------------------------------
Friday, November 17th 2006,
I have
made up a nice page for my cranked up
Men In White Grey Mudman. I swapped the new straps and bezel of the
M.I.B. with the yellowished ones. I have tried to get a new bezel and straps,
but unfortunately Casio Japan isn't supporting any spare parts of a DW-8400
anymore...
.

I updated my G-Shock Links page. Several links were broken. I'm very happy I found back mr. Yamazaru-San's website. The link was broken. He has moved to another host, but now we have again an awesome lot of pictures of all Riseman ever released.
Sunday I will go Mountain biking in Brabant. Bob, better known as "Maser of G" (see July 25th), will be joining us. I hope it will be a great day for a ride. The weather forecast looks nice (we need rain in the days before to get the sand dunes easier to ride, but not too much rain will be fine during the ride).
------------------------------
Wednesday, November 15th 2006,
Today I got a very nice small package from Singapore. It was a DW-002RS. It's my second, this is my one to wear. It's awesome and big and of course it's most special for it's Pin-Up picture in it's EL-backlight.
Still no sign of my "Jam' in Color" G-5500 and G-9000 in Japan.
A few weeks ago I received a DW-6900 version with a special watchband and a reversing backlight. I'm not sure about this model, if it was released this way, or if it has been modified before I became owner.
I added two new websites in my Links section. The fist is Murphy, who is a Japanese collector that I met on Dive-Frogger his website. It looks like there is a complete new network of collectors websites with blogs and boards. All I need to do is learn Japanese...
The second one "Watches in Space" is a new website dedicated to watches that are worn by astronauts. When I recently browsed the NASA picture galleries I saw G-Shocks are often worn. It's made by Schirra in Italy, who is also a G-Shock collector.

Friday, November 3rd, 2006
Tuesday I got a nice package, straight from Chicago. In it were two special DW-8400 Mudman models dressed in white grey and a G-7000. Although I have several G-7000 models, this is the first basic version.
The Mudman are both in Men In White Grey bezel and straps, but actually the one with brand new bezel and straps is a Men In Black I model. A kind of M.I.B. Mudman in sheep clothes. I’ve been looking for the right alan key to unscrew the bezel and watchband, but unfortunately the screw seems smaller than the 1.5 mm (I think it was a 1/16” model actually) key I found at our technical work spot of the school.
I love browsing G-Peopleland statistics. Last week I saw a very strange looking reference URL. When I followed that link, I found my website in Japanese. So that’s how Japanese visitors browse my website.
![]()
I still haven’t got a notice about my ordered Jam’in Color G-Shock’s I ordered a month ago. I hope they will arrive once.

I’m pretty frustrated about the fact I can’t access WatchUSeek any more. Since the last software upgrade I only get time outs. Probably there is a port switched when the new software was introduced, which is closed at the providers Firewall. Very strange, since I made a typo in an URL a few days ago and a website showing people putting several body parts into other people body parts popped up on my office desk…
I saw my Japanese friend Dive Frogger scored a very nice clear GW-202AK-7JR. I knew the blue translucent model, but the clear white model looks in my humble opinion much better. It brings up the topic of yellowing watchbands, something that occurs on these models. I don’t mind too much about this phenomenon. It gives the watch more character and it doesn’t look bad at all. I see I haven’t put up a page yet of my I.C.E.R.C. DW-6900K, I should do that. It’s a great looking watch.
(note: this Frogman is not mine!)
I believe it’s time to get my watches back to wintertime. I have pushed this work forward every time, but yesterday my first 50(!) Maxell CR2016 batteries arrived. I believe there is no way back. The last time I set al my watches is more than a year ago (DST/Normal Time change 2005). At the moment you can hear hour beeps 15 minutes before the whole hour (old DW-6600’s and DW-6900 can be very poor timekeepers) coming from everywhere in the house. I have alarms on many watches programmed on 7:55, but now they go off before 6:55 in the morning (a few minutes long).

Thursday October 26th, 2006
Wow, I had my guestbook installed one day and a lot of good friends already signed it. Super Guys! Nothing looks better than a filled Guest book.
I made a page for my red G-056. I think it's a nice small G-Shock. It's bright red, so it's not meant to be hidden.
I finally made up an extra page for Jochen. He's not only a avid Mountain Biker, but also a volunteer firefighter. He sent me a couple of great photo's of a firefighter drill. I also put added some great MTB mud pictures to his MTB page.
I finally bought a G-2500. I took the green (khaki) version with the amber display. It has no countdown timer, but it always looked so good.
Martin, if you are reading this, I got the package from Germany today. I need to find a way to re-pack it and to sent it to you;-)
------------------------------
Monday October 23rd,
I got a very nice, though mysterious G-Shock last week. It is a DW-6900 with a reversed EL backlight (as seen on the DJ Spooky and GL-110 model). It has a nice "Rhythm it b-boy" watchband. I can't find further info of this model. The seller had this model listed as a DW-6900R.
I still need to put up a page for my G-056 in red. It's a nice small model (DW-5X00 size) with the same futuristic look as the GW-056. I also still have pics of a khaki AW-510 for a page. Somehow I had not much time for that lately.
I found a new simple Guestbook. I hope this time it's better spam proof. So please don't hesitate to sign it.
I bought a long whished mountain bike last week. For a long time I was lurking at a Cube LTD Team. It's a hard tail that is tested as the best buy in the category around €1000,-. I took it out for an rough and long ride Saturday and I believe it's a real improvement. I love the fork (Rock Shox Tora), and the bar, which are both customized and adjusted for me.
A friend of me had two nice G-Shock's for me. I haven't paid for it, but I will do that shortly. Also I hope to get a special G-9000 Mudman version and a special G-5500 model. For the rest I need to get my financial balance right, so probably there will not be much G-Shocks for me for a while...
------------------------------
Friday October 13th,
Tuesday I got early home, sick. First I thought it was a heavy Hay fever, but a growing headache pointed me out I was heaving a sinusitis. Wednesday I got a nasty fever with it too, and still I'm far from 100% O.K.
My Friend Dive-Frogger found more info on the Kyokushin G. There were 6 models, 2 DW-002 models, two DW-003 models and two DW-8800 models. Every model was released in a black and a white version. I have made a page for my Kyokushin G. Many thanks to Dive-Frogger for helping me out here!
I got a very nice 12". It's Uffie's debut single Pop the Glock/Ready to Uff. Fresh old school Hip Hop beats in a modern sauce. Ready to Uff is a song, produced by electronic beat wizard Mr Oizo. Check out this live Video in Cinespace in L.A. I already found out I'm not the only one mentioning Uffie, but she's gonna kick it far. I'm ready to Uff...

Monday October 9th 2006,
The Coastal Marathon was again a great happening. The conditions were extreme, but there was no rain. On the whole course the wind was blowing 7 Beaufort on the runners. The storm and springtide resulted that there were places where no beach was left for the runners. The Pick-Up truck that should transport me 6 km over the beach got stuck in the sea, so I was brought around the dunes.
I have added pictures of 13 T-Shirts in the T-Shirt section. Too many to mention them all I guess.
I also
took some pictures of my new DW-003TL model. My friend Dive-Frogger translated
the Japanese text on the watchband:
The
model bears the name of the Kyokushinkai Karate Sect, which is a strong sect in
Japan. The upper part reads: "Itigeki hissatu". This means something like "The
blow kill without fail".

------------------------------
Friday October 6th,
I got a great DW-003TL version in the House. In stead of the usual double Velcro watch band, this one has a thick white cloth band, with Chinese or Japanese signs on it. I have never seen this model before.
I also bought a Tough Label (B-Boys) model from a distant friend.
I had a nice conversation with Keith from Tiktox. I bought a watch from him a month ago that was out of stock. Since I needed two new watch bands and he had a G-056 in red, I thought we could make a good deal, which we did;-)
The past days I have been busy to take pictures of my T-Shirt collection. It's not really completed yet (there are no comments) and I need to take more pictures, but a nice selection you will find if you follow my Other Crazes section.
Tomorrow is a BIG day. I requested to be the last rider again on the Coastal Marathon and I got that function. The weather forecast is worse than last year. Heavy rain showers are predicted during the heaviest marathon of our country. Nevertheless I'm looking forward to legally ride over the dunes, beaches and other places that are normally closed for mountain bikers.

Monday October 2nd 2006,
A very busy Sunday figuring out an old revealed G-Shock program: G-Shock Desktop Accessory. It's a small Win95 program that shows a I.C.E.R.C. Frogman on your Desktop, showing the computer time with an alarm function. Ozzie, Ed and I took a long time to figure out how all things worked. It took that long because the Japanese signs probably only shows on computers with a Japanese operating system. For using this program in Win XP, you'll need two drivers. It's also downloadable from the G-Shock Desktop Accessory page.

Sunday October 1st 2006,
Yesterday evening I took some nice pictures of my new G-5500 and made a page for it. Check it out here. I have ordered a second one, so I can keep one for the collection and one on my wrist. It's classic '80's design and somehow rougher and bigger look than a DW-5X00 model intrigues me. With the G-9000 and now the G-5500 Casio has released some great tributes models this year (not to mention the awesome new October 2006 releases on the official G-Shock website.
While working as a camera operator last Thursday in the Flushing (Vlissingen) harbor area, I met a lot of old students of me. One of them was a total surprise. When she said: "Hi Sjors", I didn't recognize her, but follow the link and you find out why ;-)

Saturday September 30th 2006,
Today my niece Chelsea celebrates her 14th Birthday. Congratulations Chels.
I haven't had much time to work on the website lately. Tuesday I managed to make a pretty large amount of pictures of G-Shock's that I acquired lately. It's just a drop on a glowing plate, because I've got to make many pictures more, because I got quiet a load G-Shock's in. This month it was a record. Not less than 14 G-Shocks and a ProTrek came in.
Wednesday the long waited for G-5500 arrived. I like this model. It has Mud Resist buttons. It looks like the red things are buttons, but actually they are rubber protectors of the buttons, located under it. A bit like the rubber parts in the bezel of the Raysman. Here some quick pics.

Also I got in were 2 US Open Surfing models, a DW-9000K with Tidegraph, a G-2900, 2 DW-003TL's, a Black Titanium PRG-80T (also on pic above), a GT-001 and the movies "Who am I", "Entrapment" and "Antitrust", featuring G-Shocks!
I added 5 pages (and two service pages) to my website. The first two pages can be found in the G-Cool series. The first one is the GT-001, the basic G-Cool as featured in "Entrapment". You can now also find the C-Cool from the Antwerp-Tokyo Collection, designed by Annelies Braeckman.
I also added two pages in the Vintage Models section. The first is the DW-6500 Skyforce with red lettering, the second is the yellow DW-5600C-9B I got from Casionerd.
Last but not least was a present from Jurphaas for my 40th Birthday. It's the Real Black Red Eye DW-5600RE model, a real black beauty. It's also shown in one of the pics above, along with the G-5500 and the PRG-80T.

Thursday September 21st 2006,
I've hit
the BIG four last Saturday. My life has started finally (according to many
people around me
). A lot of people visited me during the long
and hot day (it was marvelous weather). I had even three special guests, Master
of G, G-Master and Antman (thee "Master of G" collectors from the The Hague
region), so I was very honored. Guys, next meeting in The Hague, promised
!
They got me a very nice surprise. They made three great G-Peopleland T-Shirts.
Since they have a picture of Anne
on it, I sent her some pictures of these shirts. She was very pleased and
flattered. Thanks guys!!!!
I also got a very special G-Shock birthday present from Jurphaas. It's the Real Black Red Eye DW-5600RE, a Pretty rare model. I will add pictures of this great looking classic model later to the Jurphaas Collection.

I haven't been collecting G-Shock's much the past weeks. I thought I should change that a bit. I looked out for several watches. Several are all ready in the house. Besides some basic black and red DW-6900 models I also got a very special "Annelies Braekman" G-Cool. It's a Antwerp - Tokyo collaboration model. I live about 75km from Antwerp and it's a great city to visit. For this reason I always wanted to have this model for a long time. I'm not sure which G-Shock's are still on the way, but I try to sum up: a DW-003 US Open Surfing, a DW-9500 US Open, a Stage Tomato, a white/black DW-003TL, I.C.E.R.C. DW-9000K, AW-510 in Khaki and a Pro Trek PRG-80T in black.
I also am after some promotional items. This afternoon I got a G-Bag Travel bag and earlier I got a G-Shock MP-3 player. On the way is still a G-Shock Rash Guard.
If you thought that was all, I also bought some movies where G-Shock's are featured via eBay. These movies are: Who am I (Jackie Chan), Entrapment (Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones), Hackers (Angelina Jolie, Jonny Lee Miller) and Antitrust (Ryan Phillippe – Rachael Leigh Cook). Maybe I can get some great screen shots from these movies.
I'm still waiting for the G-5500 to be released. It will be released in Japan any day now.
I realize I'm very far behind of updating my site, but at the moment it's very busy at my work. I hope to start updating soon, because with so much new material coming up, it will be a big job to keep G-Peopleland updated.
For those who had problems accessing my website (including me), the problems should now be solved. I contacted the Tech Guys in New Orleans and it appeared a server wasn't working properly. Within 24 hours the problem was solved.

Thursday September 14th 2006,
2 days to go and I'm getting nervous... I've been in the kitchen a lot yesterday and today to prepare food for Saturday. At the moment I'm just sitting down for a short while, before I start on a Frikadel Pangang and a Sambal Goreng.
This Sunday I went to Dessel in Belgium for mountain biking. It was about 5 km from the abbey from Postel. The do not only have a great beer (draft), but also sell bread, cheese and sausages. I bought a big hump of abbey cheese and 2 big sausages, yummy.
G-News now. Adan mailed me he had renewed his G-Stock Website. He has also new interesting models for sale (I know I'm now cutting in my own fingers, because the DW-9500 US-Open Surfing models, the DW-9550 in several colors and the DW-8600K are awesome objects, I would like to have in my collection!
I got a little holy grail in two days ago. Casionerd was looking out for a yellow DW-5600C for me. When he heard my birthday was near, he sent me his own DW-5600C from his personal collection! To complete the euphoric feeling, I got also an unique hand crafted pen made out of blood wood from The Pen Stop, owned by a G-Shock collector.

Also I received a G-Shock MP-3 Player. The player was given as a present when you bought a G-Shock in Australia for a while. I also have a G-Bag Backpack on the way. Also I bought a G-Shock Rash Guard.
Not only promo stuff, I bought an Annelies Braeckman G-Cool model, a Tokyo - Antwerp collaboration model. A must have for me, since Antwerp is one of my favorite cities. I also bought a U.S. Open Surfing series model and a DW-9000K I.C.E.R.C. model. I never have noticed that model before.
I'm still waiting for the G-5500 model to be released. Well, I must go back to my kitchen, TTFN.

Wednesday September 6th 2006,
10 days to go for the BIG 4.....
I forgot to mention I also got pictures of Jochen from Germany. He is a volunteer fireman and there where some nice shots made of him, with his DW-003X-4T, in action during a height training (no mountain biking this time). I will publish his pictures later on the site.
I believe I didn't order a G-Shock, but I found some interesting things (a yellow DW-5600C is on the way). Since a local pub is constantly asking me when I have spare time to DJ on a "Vinyl Night", I thought it wouldn't be bad to add some nice vinyl's to my collection. Sometimes I wonder if the complete attic is coming down (I lost count ages ago).
Yesterday I had several great catches I think. Since I like to play experimental Electro and Techno in , I searched for some new timeless music.
Most excited I was about the 12"-es "Le Dust Sucker - Meanboy Remixes" and "Vialic - Poney EP" containing the huge the track "La Rock 01". I also got hold of a copy of "Future Sound Of London - Papua New Guinea". More than 10 years ago Ronnie of the "Clan of Xymox" came at my studio (back then in the centre of Middelburg) asking me if I knew where to get a copy of this record. He knew from a mutual friend I was a huge F.S.O.L. fan, but I didn't had it on vinyl. Now I found one finally myself.
Just in time I found out that a retrospective of the life of my all time favorite artist "Fad Gadget" (Frank Tovey) will be released September 11th. Too bad Frank won't see it happen. In 2002 he suddenly died from an unexpected heart attack. Frank was an inspiration for many great artists like Vince Clarke, Depeche Mode and Vitalic. The set contains 2 CD's and 2 DVD's. Of course I pre-ordered a set for me. Rest In Peace Frank...

Sometimes I don't like to keep the News section running. Specially lots of things happen at one time, or when I had for a longer time no spare time to write. I got 6 new watches in this week and there is some stuff on the way. I ordered a GL-200-4V at Tiktox when I found out one item was left, but I fished behind the net. The last one was just sold...
I was also was looking for a Yuji Nakazawa Signature model, but these were long time sold out in Japan. You can't win them all.
In March I wrote about an auction I lost on the LP "Go Weird" by the Wibbley Brothers (1981). Actually I lost another auction of a copy of this record. €215,- wasn't enough to win that auction. Last week I got a mail regarding what I wrote.
The writer of that e-mail wrote he was interested in how I knew this album and why I was looking for it. Then I flew backwards from my computer chair. The message was signed by Ronnie Wibbley himself. He told me how the memorable song "The wonderful world of Terry Wibbley" was recorded, with a TB-303 and a TR-606. In fact this was the first ever recorded track with a TB-303, which got famous years later as the machine to produce the characteristic Acid sounds. Do you remember this picture of Mirte in my studio?
;
Well, that was the good part (a very nice guy, by the way). I hoped to hear "Go Weird" would be re-released, but the Wibbley Brothers don't own the rights of their recordings.... Good news is that they were working the past 25 years to make a successor album and to put it in Ronnie's words "It's about time we got that finished and released."
I got also a mail from my friend Dive-Frogger in Japan. He was worried about me, not writing news for a while. He also showed me his latest Frogmen Mods and his WW-5100C-1. Real eye candy. Those WW-5X00C models are extreme hard to find. WW means wide temperature range displays. Now most G-Shock models can handle temperatures until -20ºC, but 20 years ago it was very new. Here the pics Dive-Frogger sent me. He wanted to be published in the G-People section, so who knows we can see him later there. Since a job at the Air Force, so he will probably appear partially unrecognizable here, to protect his privacy.

Also Mike
Hogan, a Cardiac Surgeon Assistant and close friend of G-Peopleland will join
the G-People section soon. He already sent me some pictures, but he forgot to
wear his G-Shock. You can't be G-People not wearing G's!

School started two weeks ago. I have been covered by requests of experiments, so I will probably not have much energy left to make new pages. Still I'm planning to make a new page for my new red lettering version of the DW-6500 Skyforce. I also want to make new pictures of the Gio Estevez model in the 21st. C.B. series. I got a brand new one from Adan's G-Stock. The one I am currently wearing has a new watchband also, so the missing Hour Glass shown on that page is already present again, thanks to Tiktox!
Off to bed now. I have rode an underestimated 40km mountain bike trail yesterday and am still pretty tired.

Thursday August 17th 2006,
Yesterday I went with Bram to Rescue Vlissingen 2006. Since it was pretty good weather, ten thousands of other people had the same idea. There were a lot of demonstrations of Rescue helicopters, rescue divers, firefighters, Militaries and Ambulances. Of course it was also a good place to spot G-Shock's and divers watches. The most fascinating demonstration was an enormous airfield fire truck spouting over a big hotel complex (about 8 to 10 stories high I guess). Bram was very glad with his new fireman's helmet and 2 helicopters I bought for him. I was very content with two red AA-Cell Mini Maglite torches for the price of one!
When Bram passed the technical criminal investigation stand (CSI: Vlissingen), he was first picked out to do a demo crime scene investigation. Unfortunately he didn't want the suit (well, it was too warm actually, so I can't blame him), else I would have had awesome pictures! Here a small impression (more G-Shock news after the pics!).

The past two days I have watched the movies Bad Boys and Bad Boys II very carefully, because I knew Martin Lawrence was wearing G-Shock's in those movies. Actually I could buy the original used G-Shock from a seller that sells movie props on e-Bay, but unfortunately I lost that auction. The model in Bad Boys was very easy to find out. In several scenes the typical three eyes were very good visible. The model in Bad Boys II was harder to find out. A combination of several scenes showed a silver ring, a G-2300 type case and an eye in the upper left corner. After watching several scenes frame by frame I found out it was a G-2310 model.

I am wearing the Referee timer the last few days that I got from Leon. I still haven't taken pics of it. I also need to dig into the manual, since it doesn't have a simple stopwatch, but one that gives me reading I do not understand. It looks like it's a more sophisticated stopwatch and since I'm a real button puncher..... I can read your mind. RTFM!
I also need to take some pictures of Bram's new black Club-G.

Tuesday, August 15th 2006,
The summer vacation is after 7 weeks almost over. Our vacation to Bourgogne, France was terrific, although a big and long thunder storms made the terrain a good test area for my Mudman. I've been on my bike several times. There were some nice off-road trails and although I thought the region was pretty flat. Not! I have made at least 750 positive height meters! On one day I rode 55 km/h downhill against a stormy wind. Too bad I blew up a tire. I had a hyper modern CO2 Pump, but both my cartridges only made a lot of noise and some carbon dioxide snow piles up besides my tire. After a hour walk back to camp I decided to take the first opportunity to by an old fashioned emergency pump. I rode 20 km to the nearest by town and found a small "Zefal" for a good price, capable to pump up to 10 bar! French quality product!
When home, Bram got a nice package from Alan (Tribe 125). It had some nice goodies and his second Club-G, a black one. Neil (a chemistry teacher colleague from Chicago and G-Shock collector), who had donated me his old DW-5200 lately, pointed me to a message of my co-moderator Leon, who had a refreshment kit (bezel and straps). He also had a Referee Timer for me, which I still didn't have in my collection. When I returned home last Sunday from a weekend at my sister Thea's birthday I found a large package. Thanks Leon, I have refreshed my DW-5200 already and worn it a couple of times.
Here some nice impressions of my vacation and my visit to my sister's birthday.

A huge statue of Tara (about 10m/30ft!) in a Buddha temple.

Bram was fond of the French water towers everywhere. I went an afternoon with him searching for them.

Happy Birthday sis!

Bram and his niece Alisia
That's my brother Paul clear away my empty bottles of Forbidden Fruit/Le Fruit le Defendu. Check out his Raysman.
As a bonus, a video of Bram in the swimming pool in France.

I added a page for the living legend Casionerd. Probably the biggest vintage G-Shock and other old Casio watches databank walking on Earth! Glad to have him among my G-People!

Tuesday July 25th 2006
A memorable day in G-Peopleland. We had a "Masters of G" meeting this afternoon. Bob, father of Joella, visited me. It was a motorcycle trip of 2½ hour in one of the hottest days of this year, so he was glad he arrived and could take his motor jacket off. Bob collects mainly "Master o G" models, and he has quiet a lot. He also has a colleague who's a collector, but unfortunately he couldn't come with him.
I have actually so many G-Shock's that I didn't knew where to start showing him. I believe my website is a better place for looking through my collection, but it always awesome to see some rare models in real.

After looking though my collection we had a Barbeque in the back yard. We talked a lot of G-Shock, Mr. Seiya-San's services and his illness and cooking. It sounded like Bob is a very nice exotic cook. When I'm in the Neighborhood of The Hague I hope to enjoy one of his meals.
The past days I have been trying to get al models I received to get on-line. Strange enough they were al gifts.
First is the Georgia Coffee model, a GW-300 I got from Ozzie. It had a failing rechargeable battery, and it would cost him a fortune to let it repair in Japan. I could have it with coverage of the shipping costs. It's a very nice cream colored model.
Next is the complete collection I got from a G-Peopleland Fan. First in line is the GW-1200J. This Japanese model Waveceptor is very nice and big. Next a long time wanted MTG-700M. A very nice surprise also was the G-7000K of the 2003 I.C.E.R.C. series. It has nice blue digits and a very great looking whale in the backlight. Last but not least, also a long wanted model in my collection is the red version of the DW-9501, better known as the Rocking Deer (German G-Shock name)
I also added two G-Shock stories. First is "Siren Call" by Tribe 125. His story could have been mine and I guess many G-Shock collectors can find themselves in his story. Of another order is the ultimate G-Shock torture test:
"G-700 Torture Test: Freeze! Burn! Smash! Drop!" a very funny story by FreeDiver with great pics and video's!
Well, it was a lot of work, so I deserve a long rest now;-)

Saturday July 22nd 2006
It was Bram's 6th Birthday yesterday and it was a great day. Even my sister Thea came by (she lives over 3 hours drive from me at the other side of the country) and Bram was in the end covered with presents. In the evening I went with some friends to the city centre to drink some beers at "De Mug" and "Café 't Hof". Unfortunately no vinyl night, but the warm night temperatures and loads of people I haven't spoken for a long time turned the terrace into a spontaneous beach party without sand!
Well, today my brother Paul is having his Birthday party, so I will be going there in a few hours. I bought him a white Mudman, with a lot of thanks to Skyhook for getting one for me in time. I took the opportunity to take some pictures of the export model. The only visible difference between the JP and the overseas model is the lettering in the dial. The JP model says 20BAR water resist, while the overseas model says 200M Water resist.
I added an extra page in the new Mudman series page with comparison pictures as solo pictures as well.
A few weeks ago Bram got a present from Buzzbait. It was a very nice looking red Club-G. I have added a page of it on the website this morning too.

Thursday July 20th 2006
Today I finished several pages in the Promotions section. A few weeks ago I obtained a great lighter fluid lighter. This week a 5 Band Waveceptor pen and a LED Keychain arrived. I also added three G-Shock magazines to my collection, The Gakken-Mook G-Shock Databank Catalogue, the G-Shock Databank and Baby-G new model book '97 and the August 2006 issue of Street Jack, a youth magazine which is next month totally dedicated to G-Shock.

Wednesday July 19th 2006
We are suffering a second heat wave in a short time. Today the local temperature broke the old record, 34.1ºC, of 1915. The local weather institute recorded 35.5ºC!
I took a lot of pictures last Sunday for G-Peopleland. I believe I had to choose from over 180 pics, but the last days I have made several more.
Yesterday I accomplished my new Mudman collection. The black G-9000 arrived earlier. The green version arrived, which means I have them all four.
Today I finished the new Mudman series page which links to all models that are available at the moment.

Thursday July 13th 2006
Yesterday a package with 2 G-Bags (a back pack and a courier bag). The seller, a chemistry teacher and a friend of G-Peopleland also added his old died DW-5200 with it. It was used during painting houses, so there was a lot of paint on the bezel and on the display. Still I will try to revive it. Tiktox is after a DW-5200 Bezel and watchstraps for me. I also ordered a few batteries for it (CR2320), since I didn't have it here. It would be cool if I could find a crystal too (according to Keith, depleted at stock at Casio, not anymore produced).
Yesterday a sort of fan of G-Peopleland (he mails me from time to time and enjoys my silly adventures read here in the news section) and G-Shock collector mailed me he had something for me. He would like to sent it to me and he would like me to wear it from time to time. I expected something like a T-Shirt or something similar. This afternoon the postman came by with a package. It was quiet heavy. Maybe 5 T-Shirts. My eyeballs popped almost out of my eyes. He had thinned out his G-Shock collection and donated 5 G-Shock's to me!
The first one is a MTG-700M, a bit smaller metal G-Shock with a negative display. Awesome. I had seen it several times some years ago, but actually never bough it. The second one is a GW-1200J. The good thing is it's triple band, the small bad thing, it doesn't pick up signal in Europe. Still it's a great big watch. The third is a G-7000K. It's a special I.C.E.R.C. G-7000, released for the 3rd International Dolphin and Whale Eco-Research Network. The digits are not black, but more aqua (a greenish turquoise). The fourth model is a "Rocking Deer", model number DW-9501RL-4V. It has a special treated red leather watch bands. When it was released it was already in my wish list, but actually the auctions or shop prices were always too high for me.
Skyhook has already sent me the package with two Mudman in it. One is the new green export model, the other is the creamy white for my brother Paul his birthday on July 24th. I keep my fingers crossed that the package will arrive in time.
I'm very
behind in updating my website. I also have nice pictures of Casionerd for the
G-People section. He's a true Vintage G-Shock and other vintage Casio's legend,
so I'm actually very proud to take him up in the G-People section. What the
hack. It's summer vacation and I spend more time with
Bram
than on my computer....at least I try![]()

Tuesday July 11th 2006
Yesterday morning the postman delivered my new GW-9000 Mudman. It's awesome. I had it synced to local time within 5 minutes after I got the package. I haven't got time to make a new page for it, but I promise to make one soon. In the mean time I have a black G-9000 Mudman on it's way from Japan. In Singapore Skyhook is sticking his neck out for me and fellow forum-ers to get Mudmen for everyone! He already has a green model for me and tomorrow he will go after a creamy white Mudman for my brother Paul.
In the mean time I have made many photo's of battery changes in several G-Shock watches. I have placed 4 threads on the How to... sub-forum of the W.U.S. G-Shock forum already. I will put up pages later in the Support section.
