Stewart sent me some photo's of him with his DW-5600E with the request to add him in the G-People section. Stewart is a firefighter from the UK and he has also a weblog about Positive Thinking. Frankly I haven't updated this section for a long time as it has served it's purpose. I made this section on my website to show that there are people wearing G-Shocks in a time that G-Shocks were far from popular in my country. Now the popularity of G-Shocks in my country is pretty big and it is still growing. Still I am glad to add Stewart as a new G-Person in my G-People section.

En passant I finished already my 50 Gs article for Sunday. I would say check out my 50 Gs Weblog Sunday ;-)

I thought this was already the second news post of the year, but I see it is the first. A bit late, but Happy New Year to all my viewers. I might not have been busy too much with G-Peopleland in January, I already have finished 4 articles for 50 Gs and a 5th is following. Also I had a great meeting with Tribe 125 and DragonJade, who came to Antwerp. We spend some good time in Antwerp and Middelburg, with a little help of Julia and Hilde.

Ernie Romers (Owner of WatchuSeek, me, Tribe125 and DragonJade (incognito) in Middelburg.
Two of the new articles on 50 Gs were about two models that were new in my collection. The first is the awesome Speedpass GWS-900-4JR model. The second model is the Black x Gold GA-110GB-1AER. Today I took time to add two pages about these models.
I might be a bit slow in adding new models on my website as I am a bit tight on funds. Not a real problem, as I recently bought a new MacBook Pro. The main reason to buy this laptop was that I wanted a good machine to write my 50 Gs articles (inclusive faster research) and fast editing my photo's. The photo's of the GA-110GB were the first G-Shock photo series edited on my new MacBook. Still there is room for more G-Shock pages here. I still have found a classic MR-G, which will be featured soon on 50 Gs and I have already ordered an interesting new G-Shock model in Japan.

I have added 2 pages today. They are quite amazing additions to my collection. Both are from the MR-G series and I wanted them both for a long time. The first one is the MRG-1100-2 MR-G Frogman. Probably the best looking classic MR-G model there is.

The other one is the mean looking MRG-1200T-2A MR-G Revman. It's a tough looking, designed for auto sports. It has a twin chronograph on board. The module is similar to the Giez GS-300.

Well, that's it for now. I'm cooking a Christmas Dessert now. I want to make a kind of Catalan Crème Brûlée.
Merry Christmas!

And now for something different. I got a huge Lego Millennium Falcon from Saint Nicolas (the origin of Santa Claus). I finally have put it together and made a stop motion movie of the building process. Check out the T-Shirts and G-Shocks passing by in this video. Enjoy!

We spend an early Saint Nicolas Evening today. Normally Saint Nicolas is celebrated on December 5th in the Netherlands (and December 6 in Belgium). While I guess most readers have never heard of Saint Nicolas, but most of you might know him under his derived name Santa Claus. If you pronounce Santa Claus in English, it almost sounds as Dutch Sinterklaas, the common name for Saint Nicolas. I think the customs are pretty much the same. A lot of presents for every one and the Saint has occasionally even written some Saint Nicolas poetry. We had been very kind this year, I'll guess. We got a lot of presents. Many were Lego presents.
I have bought this year not many G-Shocks, but the there were a lot expensive models between them. It looks like not only Saint Nicolas brought me presents, I also received several nice G-Shocks. I received a second PARRA model, so I have one to wear. Also I managed to get 2 new Dee and Ricky models. Indeed, one for my collection and one for wearing. I immediately strapped it on. It's a great looker. I think that Casio closes 2011 with two really nice G-Shocks. Also I bought a Nigel Sylvester model. I still have to take photos of it, but I think it will be up before New Year. There are more doubles on the way. I expect a Playset 3, a DGK and an U.S.L.A. Gulfman. I will have some very nice models to wear soon. Two other nice models, which I didn't have in my collection will also make their trip to G-Peopleland.

Ok, Ok, it has been a while that I updated G-Peopleland. I had some special G-Shocks that came in. There are two waiting for their 50 Gs premiere, so you have to wait until the end of the year to see those very special G-Shocks appear here on G-Peopleland. I have to amid these two have absorbed my G-Shock funds for a two months, but they are sure worth the purchase.

Another nice G-Shock I got, was a gift from my G-Shock friend Thomas from Germany. It is a customized DW-6900S with a black bezel and a purple mirror display. I should add this model in my "Customized" section in the future. Thanks Thomas.
If I thought I was broke, I got a good deal on a mint Men In Yellow Frogman. I got a new rare old stock bezel and straps with it, almost impossible to find! Well, you can imagine I was completely broke last October. Ouch!
The Mat Dial series are released in Japan, the US and Europe. I pretty much like the whole series. The prices worldwide are all almost the same, so I bought the pink model here in the Netherlands. I hope to get G-Shocks more of this series.

I think G-Shock is getting much bigger in the Netherlands, which means harder to get models are now also available here. Also G-Shock had the second Dutch collaboration. This time it's with Dutch graphic artist Parra, an artist I pretty much like. He designed a G-Shock in his trademark colors blue, red, pink and orange. maybe you won't turn wild by seeing the stock photo's, but in real, this is a very nice colorful DW-5600 model. Check out my new G-SHOCK x PARRA page.

The DW-002J-9 I got last week was a model I had my eye on for some time. I think it looks pretty funny, with the egg yellow and black accents on gray. I have no clue why I haven't bought it before, as it is a model that can be easily found (even still now) and is fairly cheap. I think I paid a moderate price with €21.-. I took some photo's and made this page for it. Have a look and enjoy the photo's of this great looking classic.

The summer has ended, so it's time to update my website. Actually I have not much updating to do, as I did not acquire many Gs in August. With not many, this does not mean not interesting. First of all, I received the 3rd "play set products" G-Man box, the GD-100PS-3ER (European Version). While this model was released in Japan in April of this year, the European release was in July. I bought this watch in an on-line Dutch sneaker store.

During my holiday in the Ardennes (Belgium), I got an offer I couldn't refuse. You probably had seen it already at 50 Gs, it's my Eric Clapton signature MR-G model. It's a very beautiful black titanium model from 1999. Pretty rare and very hard to find.

I finally bought a yellow/gray DW-002 in Germany. I paid only a little money for it, but it is in very good condition. I haven't taken photo's of this watch, so I can't make up a page yet. I would say, stay tuned for this cute G.

I bought also a second Rescue-G Riseman (non-atomic version of the Men In Rescue Orange Riseman). It's the Coastal Marathon in two weeks and I wanted to wear something matching and new. This Riseman was on my wish list since it came out, but now I decided I should buy it. I probably will wear it together with my Rescue-G Gulfman, so I have the Tidegraph with me, as well as an Altimeter.

On 16 September two small packages arrived, exact on time for my birthday. These are small presents from me to myself for my 45th birthday. The first model is the basic DW-6900FS-8, probably the most sold basic G-Shock in the US.

The second is the white/plump GW-6900F-7. This nice glossy model is the newest basic atomic 6900 series model. It's very nice, if you love white G-Shocks. It has just a little extra, because of the negative plump display.

At the moment two there are two, also very rare, G-Shocks on the way to G-Peopleland. I hope it will not be delayed by the customs, but I'm afraid it might take a while to arrive. Both models were on my wish list for quite some years. I guess they will be here in October.

I've been enjoying the summer holidays a bit. I just finished a 50 Gs article about The in4mation "One Love" model. You'll probably recognize the familiar photo's as I used my photo's both for here on G-Peopleland as on my 50 Gs weblog.

I was just checking my website and saw several links of the new pages were missing. I was of course a lot of work to get all those pages made up and on-line. Probably some attention was slipped in the end. Sorry. It's now possible to find all pages that I uploaded about a week ago via the usual menus. Sorry for the inconvenience.

It had been a bit quiet, but in the background I have made 10 new pages with 7 new G-Shocks and a pair of sunglasses and I updated an old Sunglasses page with bigger fresh photo's. Arranging these pages have cost me a lot of time. While uploading I saw about 275 photo's have been added on my website. I think that is pretty cool.

I found some cool apps for my new iPhone 4 (bought it one day before the iPhone 5 was announced, aaaaarcchhhh!). With these apps I can make cartoon like photo's. Cool. They might pop up here from time to time. Well, the photo above was made at an optician waiting for an eye test. I wanted to let my eyes measured as I sometimes can't see sharp. Probably I have worked too long behind a computer screen, because my eyes were still perfect.

It was Bram's birthday on July 21. It was a big party (and a little bit too much beer, ay ay).

Let's start with the sunglasses. The sunglasses above were bought from a Japanese seller in 2005. The photo's on this page were a little small, so I made some new photo's as I had to make also photo's of the new Sunglasses that I found in Germany. It were actually sunglasses I also saw at Shock The World in Amsterdam. These are Aviator glasses. Not really my style and Eva wasn't to happy with it too. Well, for better views, follow the links to these pages. Also a Sunglasses Main-page was made, to navigate to these glasses.

Let's continue to the pages of the G-Shocks. Here they are in no particular order.

First it's the GD-100-1B. It's a large G-Shock and Casio promotes these GD-100 models as X-Large models. I don't consider these as a separate series. It's a basic model, but there are special editions of this model too. A funny thing is that clothing brand XLarge actively promotes this model.

Second G-Shock: GW-7900MS-3 of the M-Spec series. A very nice designed Tough Solar model with MoonPhase, Tidegraph and Atomic time keeping. A pretty complete good looking watch.

Third G-Shock: a favorite of me. the Purple Color Display model. It's the non-Atomic model. I wish I had the funds for the Atomic Japan Domestic model.

Fourth G-Shock: It's the Green Colors or Green Collection G-6900EW. I pretty much like these Green Colors models. It's actually my second as I had my first one signed by Ibe Kikuo-san (see news item July 19).

Fifth G-Shock: The in4mation "One Love" model, the latest collaboration model with this Hawaiian Clothing brand

Sixth G-shock: The I.C.E.R.C. model of his year is the GW-6900K. An unusual combination of the white bezel and the jelly dark blue straps.

Seventh and last G-Shock: A gem in my collection. It's the DW-6900FS-8HJ "Hope Japan". Only 100 were made of this model. There were also two other models, also in an emission of 100 pieces each. This model was released only in the US and could only be ordered by G-Shock USA.

Well, it was a lot of work. I have no G-Shocks incoming, so I finally can enjoy my summer holidays a bit. Kanpai!

Hello fellow G-Shock enthusiasts, did you miss my regular updates on G-Peopleland? Sorry, I have been very busy at the end of the school year. Now the summer vacation has begun, but I have a lot of birthday parties of friends and family. Also writing and research for my 50 Gs weblog takes a lot of time. In the background I have been working on the website though. The pages of the I.C.E.R.C. Frogman of 2004 and 2006 are already on-line for some time. You find them here and here.
On Thursday June 16 the "Shock The Worlds Tour 2011" did Amsterdam! I was invited with the happy view to attend as VIP, which included a press conference introducing new models, and brand ambasadors. Mr. Ibe Kikuo, the father of G-Shock did a presentation about the long process from the drawing table to the first DW-5000C model in 1983. He has a nice way of telling a story and most impressive... The story was complete in Dutch!

Mr. Ibe Kikuo and me.
Afterwards I got the opportunity to do a small interview with Mr. Ibe Kikuo. It was of course a big honor to talk with the man who invented the watch which became my passion. The interview is published on my 50Gs weblog. You can read the story here, but I plan to publish it also on G-Peopleland in the future.

Very cool was that Mr. Ibe Kikuo also signed two of my G-Shocks.
Of course this occasion was a good opportunity to meet people that I only know by e-mail contact. After the press conference there was a party that was open for public that have reserved a ticket from the special website. Stay tuned now. I have photo's ready for 6 G-Shock pages and for 1 promotional item. I hope to update them within a few days!

Today's article on 50 Gs is a guest article from Maine about the Krink model. It's quite an interesting read, so I can recommend reading it. Meanwhile I have some extra time to work on G-Peopleland.

I got an awesome GW-204K-9DR Frogman in, a model I wanted to have for a long time. It has cost me quite a lot of money, but it's worth it. Yesterday it was sunbathing in the backyard, together with my GW-206K Frogman.

I made a new page for my Men In Black Analog Mudman. Also added several links on pages directing to MIB models. The Analog Mudman was a model I wanted for a long time. The photo's on this page are the same as on the article of this Mudman I published in April.

I got the free VLC DVD player installed on my computer, which gives nice snapshots. I noticed I had only one bad photo of "The Cable Guy". I always thought it was a DW-6600B that Jim Carrey was wearing in this movie, but with this player I can see he wears a special DW-002J version. Normally this model is black, but this model has bright red buttons. Very cool to see such a nice old G-Shock in a movie.

I have been working on G-Peopleland a bit. I had written an article about the Kawasaki Ninja G-Shock for 50 Gs last week, so I could use the photos of that model. You can find my Ninja page here.

I took new photo's of my yellow Metallic Colors (or Mirror Metallic as this series is called in the US) . It's a very special color G-Shock. The color tone is somewhat the color of an egg yolk.

The last page I finished today is of my Krink model. Although this model is a monotone gray model, it is very beautiful, because of the use of a mirror face plate over the display and a translucent band loop (strap keeper). Also the package is well designed. This model was designed by Craig Costello, who works as an artist under the name KR. Krink makes hand made inks and markers. You can guess it already. Krink is a combination of KR and ink.

It's been a while that I have updated G-Peopleland. The WatchUSeek G-Shock Forum, the G-Peopleland Facebook page and of course 50 Gs keep me pretty well occupied. Since I haven't paid all my Japanese bills (I'm close now), my collection is growing pretty slow. Still I have added some very nice pieces to my collection and I am expecting a very special piece next week.

So what's did I got:
A GW-206K in worn condition. It is a very beautiful Frogman, but it has some scratches on the display. I might send it to a friend in Spain, who seems to be very good in getting scratches out of crystals.
A Men In Black Analog Mudman, I was looking for this model for a long time.

2 purple Crazy Colors G-6900CC. I wish it was easy and relative cheap for me to get the GW-6900CC version, but I cannot afford it right now, specially with the added taxes.

The Krink Collaboration model. I got to thank Maine for this, as he posted great photo's of this model on WUS.

An egg-yellow "Metallic Colors" model. I think it was released as a Crazy Colors model outside Japan.

A white Green Collection G-6900EW

And finally, a very beautiful Kawasaki Ninja x G-Shock DW-6900FS model from 2007. This watch cost me a little fortune.

Well, looking above, I need to update G-Peopleland with 7 pages.

I bought a special T-Shirt from KIKS TYO. The sales of this T-Shirtt will be sent to the Japanese Red Cross to help the victims of the earthquake and tsunami of March 11. Some other T-Shirts are on order.

Finally I have added all my new G-Shocks of my collection. The first is the G-6900GR of the Green Collection. Finally I have one. I bought it in Japan. On March 16, 2010 I already wrote here that I very much liked this model and wanted it for my collection. The new G-6900 from the green Collection 2011 is also looking great. Let's see next year if I own one. I hope you enjoy the special background, by Trase Uno.

Second G-Shock is the M-Spec G-7900MS-3JF. A very nice model with a bullet proof strap. It is the final G-Shock I have added that I bought in Japan.

Third is the Dirty Ghetto Kids (DGK) G-Shock, designed by pro skater Stevie Williams. I have seen this model everywhere in Japan, but it was pretty expensive there. In the US this model was also released and the retail price there is much lower. Unfortunately it's hard to find in the usual shops, so this model was bought for a slightly higher price. Eventually this watch was donated to the G-Peopleland collection by Riley of My G-Shock.

Last, but not least, was a tip from Tsip85 on the G-Shock Forum on Watch-U-Seek. It is the BLVCK SCVLE model. Actually it was a collaboration between clothing brand BLVCK SCVLE and the designer Supply Circuit in cooperation with the legendary on-line urban clothing shop Karmaloop. The final models were on sale on karmaloop for $52.-. Even with $30.- shipping, it was a steal. It's a quite remarkable model. I very much like the purple face.

I have no idea what G-Shock will be next, although I have some models in my mind. Unfortunately my funds are low, as I got quite a bill from the health insurance company and we also bought a Bram a new bicycle. Also the credit card company still gets some money from me, for quite some watches that I bought in Japan. I can't wait for the moment I have no bills, so I can buy some nice G-Shocks.

On Friday March 11 Japan was hit by a very strong Earthquake, followed by a tsunami that hit the Miyagi prefecture hard. With damaged nuclear reactors the disaster for Japan is enormous. G-Peopleland is dedicated to G-Shocks, a Japanese product. Since the earthquake I have been following the news from Japan. I was worried about friends, who live north of Tokyo, but they are safe. Also all people I know in other parts in Japan are safe. It is terrible to see so many people died and so many people are without home or evacuated from the nuclear reactor area in Fukushima. I sincere hope Japan will recover quick from this disaster.

After a delay, I have updated G-Peopleland a little further. If I am right, I have added another 5 G-Shock models to my website.
First is a DW-003 G-Lide with a double Velcro strap. I bought this G-Shock in a Book Off store in Kobuchi.
Second is a DW-6696. It is part of the Lovers Collection LOV96-1 "Kiss The Angel" of 1996. I found this model in a display shop in Nakano. I was looking for a Lovers Collection Codename to wear, now I have one.
Number three is a yellow DW-9550-9HB-9T G'Mix Groove Tune. I found this watch in a Book Off in Machida. I bought it kind of comforting myself. In the same shop I wanted to buy a Men In khaki Navy Gaussman and a W.C.C.S. Frogman. Just before I wanted to pay for those watches, they seemed to be reserved for another buyer. If you had seen the prices for those watches, you know I wanted to cry then.
The last two G-Shocks are both new Jason models. They are actually the first and last G-Shock I bought during my trip to Japan. First is the grey/black/red G-001B version with a beautiful thick fabric strap. It was bought at a Yodabashi Camera in Shinjuku. The last was a black/pink G-001 version, which I bought in a large mall in Machida. I also tried to buy a G-Man, but even 10000 yen could not convince the seller to sell it to me (while politely bowing all the time).
Well that's for today. I see I still have three models to go. I will try to update when I can. I still have to pay some bills of my credit card, so I am pretty low on funds for new G-Shocks. Still I have some nice new models in my scope. I hope you enjoy the pages I made.

I have taken over 400 photo's of about 13 G-Shocks last Sunday and Monday, including the MRG-120TL-1A that I already posted. It's not always easy to edit the photo's the way I want them to have. It seems quite hard to avoid glare on very close macro photo's, so I have to take care of that in post editing. From time to time i will edit more photo's and make new pages for G-Peopleland. I made three new pages yesterday of three pretty interesting watches. They happen to be all three Frogman models.

First of all, the Men In Burning Red Frogman. It's currently about my most favorite G-Shock I have at the moment. It gets a lot of wrist time. It has a beautiful black anodized case and has the best features you can wish on a Frogman mode. It is currently also the most expensive G-Shock I own. Not sure what I paid, but it should have been something around 54000 yen. By the way, I think I made the background a little it too flashy. I must have been inspired by all the city lights in Tokyo (^ o^).

Second page I made was for this red Triple Crown Frogman of 2005. It had been on my wish list in 2005 and 2006, but they were sold out too soon to get this one, as I got the green version. If I remember right, this was the first one that sold out too. I got this Frog from a good friend and "former" "Master of G" collector here in the Netherlands. I think I got it for a good price. It appeared to be a Japanese version, as it has the original tags in the box. A very nice addition to my collection.

The Last page, is not the least Frogman. It is the notorious "Snake Killer". It has been a long wanted model that I wanted to have, but never got the funds to buy one, as they are pretty much wanted and not really cheap when for sale. I got this watch a a present from my friend Yamazaru-san from Kyoto. I was quite speechless when he gave it to me. This watch has a very special finish, which gives the watch different shades of blue and purple under different angles of light. Photo's don't do this frogman just. This is a Frogman that has a special place in my collection.

Well, that's it for today. More pages will turn up occasionally. I don't know if I can make them all before this weekend. I still have to think and write for 50 Gs too. We'll see what's next. Cheers!

Finally I have spring holidays from school. I have set myself to take photo's of all the new G-Shocks I have bought and gotten in the past three months. I started this morning around 12:00 with arranging and getting all these watches together. At the moment I have taken photo's of 5 G-Shocks for G-Peopleland and 2 classic Mudmans for 50 Gs. It seems to be quite a job to take all the photo's the way I want it. It is at the moment almost 1:00. Tonight I edited one set of photo's. These are from my great MRG-120TL-1A, a MR-G model with a leather band which was released in June 1997. I just finished the page for this MR-G, so have a look. I am working hard to get more G-Shocks on-line.

Hello fellow G-Shockers,
My G-Shock fever started slowly this year, but last week I got two nice G-Shocks in da house. First of all is the Dirty Ghetto Kids GX-56DGK. I had seen this purple "King" several times in Japan. The price was quite steep and since I bought already two expensive Frogman models and many more interesting G-Shocks that I wanted. I noticed this model was quite cheaper in the US, though the huge fees that the TNT calculates for presenting packages to the customs officer (€17.50 for presenting and holding up the package for about 5 days, no matter the worth of the content) holds me from buying G-Shocks in the US. Luckily I have some good friends there that help me to get nice G-Shocks without customs problems. This time it was even better. My friend wanted to make a video review of my watch and sent the watch as a gift to G-Peopleland to me. Thanks!
Another nice surprise was a post on the WatchUSeek G-Shock forum. Karmaloop had the BLVCK SCVLE x Supply Circuit on sale for a very good price. I ordered one immediately and it arrived already is within 5 days. A big Thank you to Tsip85 for the tip.

So what's next. I have no idea. Casio released a new model this month, the GDF-100, which has a Altimeter, Barometer and Thermometer function. It's not solar and has no atomic timekeeping. You may consider it a budget Riseman. I have no idea what I am going to purchase next. It might be the egg yellow DW-6900SB-9JF, or one of the new G-6900CC models. Both the black as the purple version look great.
I have a week school holiday next week. I have planned to update G-Peopleland with all the new watches I have acquired recently. I have edited my DW-003TL BPM model page. I have also added a page for my W.C.C.S. Frogman that I bought in Nakano. Check out 50 Gs. I have written a long article about my Burning Red Frogman. That red Frogman seems to be my current favorite G-Shock! Stay tuned for new updates in about a week. In the meanwhile, you can also check the new Japanese releases here. Cheers!

Hello G-Peopleland fans. A belated Happy New Year! Sorry for the bit delay. It has been quite a bit busy here in G-Peopleland. In December I have been in Japan for almost 2 weeks. It was an awesome experience. I have eaten good food, seen a lot of interesting sites and have done a lot of shopping. For clothing, Japan is not the place for me. I am European size XL (about the same size as US XL). Size XL is hardly available in Japan and size XL is rather a little large L than European XL.
Of course I returned home with a few G-Shocks. I had planned to buy about 4 to 8 models, but I ended up in buying 12 G-Shocks. And this is not all! From my friend Yamazaru-san in Kyoto, I have gotten a Snake Killer Frogman! I think I have never gotten such a precious gift of anyone.

Finally I have met a lot of friends, that I only knew from weblogs and forums. In Tokyo I stayed at DragonJade. In Kyoto I finally met Yamazaru-san. As a big surprise he invited my old friend Kwan for dinner. It was a big surprise to meet him too. On January 26th Kenichi and I organized a, so called, "Off Line Meeting". It became a very happy G-Shock meeting, attended by Kenichi, Tibiko, Anicar, Hydro, Oyaji, DragonJade, Bernard (not a watch collector) and me.
I also visited the Head Office of KIKS TYO, where I had a meeting with Hiro Ueno and nobody else but Hobby:tech, creative designer for a lot of brands and founder of the KIKS TYO brand. Below I'm posing with Hobby:tech (right) and the creative artist of KIKS TYO who is responsible for all the artwork on the T-Shirts.

Back in the Netherlands it took some time to get used to the time difference (-8 hours). It was New Years Eve, so I already had to stay up late with family (with matches keeping my eyes open, LOL).

G-Shock-wise I started the new year good. I bought a Subscrew G-Shock. It was not the limited edition with G-Shock shark, but the previous owner had bought a seperate "Sharkmarine" with it. A very nice model, which already appeared on 50 Gs.
At the moment I am trying to write several 50 Gs articles, as I am also very busy with a theatre play. Together with the Open Days of our school and the practial exams, I might be very busy in the coming weeks, until April 2011. I hope I have some time to order a nice G-Shock. Since I also ordered a new bicycle and bought myself a new camera, new G-Shock purchases are now on a lower level. I have set my eyes on a Dirty Getho Kids model, but that would be hard to get here in Europe. Luckily I got some help in the US ;-)
I need a lot of time to get new photo's of my new G-Shocks. Eventually I will show them here on G-Peopleland of course. Well, stay tuned, a bientôt!
