A few weeks ago I contacted GMT+9 for something, when I got a question back. Bryan Anderson asked me for an interview on GMT+9. Since there are some people which I look up against are  interviewed there (Katsu Higuchi-San, Seiya Kobayashi-San, Reto Castellazzi), I was quiet surprised. Me the guy, that only knows much about one sub-brand of plastic watches. Well, I think it turned out well. You'll find the interview here.

Anyone noticed the new presentation pictures on the homepage? It includes a dedicated grey Frogman picture of a nice guy from København, Denmark, which I promised a long time ago to use it for my website. I changed the color of his sweater to match with the rest of the page...

I got two nice G-Shock's in. The first is a black Mudresist DW-8500 Codename. It appears to be my second (I also have a red version). I forget I got one (from the same seller) at the end of January this year...  I just forgot to put a page up for this version. It's a great model, so I probably will end up with wearing one of them.

The second one is a really nice blue DW-002 dedicated to the Surfrider Foundation. I just found this one was released as the DW-002D-2 in June 1995, 12 years ago. It still is in amazing good condition.

This week the Toyota Land Team  Cruiser Mudman (G-9000TLC-4JR) is released. It's a great bright red model. I haven't told anybody yet, but Friday one has started it's journey from Japan to me.  I think it's a very limited edition with special box, like the Hawaiian Pro Design two years ago. Besides of the special box, a similar model was released as basic G-Lide model outside Japan, with a regular box.

I have seen people in Japan are already customizing the off white G-9000 model by dying the straps and bezel. Some members on the G-Shock forum already made some great ideas for modifying those white G-9000's, including a bright pink one

It was a busy day today, as Bram celebrated his early Birthday party at an big indoor playground. He and 7 of his friends had a great time. Mum and Dad are having a little beep in their ear, but it was fun, specially with a car full of cheering kids in the car.

I knew a small package should arrive from the a friend of me, who is an agent of Spyderco. It should be delivered by the package service, but I knew we weren't home when he came by. Luckily the package exactly fitted through our letterbox, so it arrived. According my friend I'm one of the first owners of a "BirdRench", the new Spyderco multitool. I'm very impressed by the looks. The tool has "slip joint" pliers and an adjustable wrench. The tool can be separated in two separate tool parts and also fit together in another way to create a long tool. The knife is quiet sharp. I accidentally slipped the point of the knife over one of my fingers. Luckily I had plenty of tissues to wipe of the blood on the tool.....

Today the last two models of the Dawn Black series arrived. The GW-9025A and the GW-5525A came in with two other packages. One other package contained 2 Casio F91-W watches and the other was a gift of a friend and Casio dealer. It had (quiet) some spare parts and a G-8100 sample, one of the newest G-Shock basic models. I was skeptic about this model first, but in real it looks much bigger. Even Eva said it looked nice. I will put up pictures of this later, so you can judge it yourself.

Tuesday I finally got my DW-6900 Ralliart. Due to international bank transaction and a postal strike in Belgium it took some time, but it was worth the wait. I love the red trim on the dial.

Also I got a second green/yellow Jam'in Color DW-6900MC, which not have left my wrist since. It's a real looker, since I got a lot of compliments wearing in. I love it myself very much too.

Another great G that came along the Jam'in Color was a DW-6900 from the Precious Heart Collection 2006. I had seen the pictures of it some time ago, and I really loved the look of it. The precious heart models are actually meant to be given to someone who is special to you. The gold tone accents look very nice with the marbled white straps and bezel. While searching for a nice background I stumbled upon a picture on a Russian Poetry blog. After some editing I used it as a background for this page.

Finally also the G-2500-3V came in. Real fast, since it was posted on Friday. It's nice dark khaki colored. The display was darker amber than I expected it would be.

Thursday was the BIG collection day. I got 3 packages from Japan and a Package from Florida, USA. The package from Florida contained a gift for G-Peopleland from a visitor and member of the G-Shock Forum. It contained a DW-9000S G-Lide, which he had noticed this model wasn't in my collection yet. Also in that package were a fake G-Shock model for photo's and two lady watches, which I have to find new owners for. All was wrapped in a great University of Florida "Gators"  T-Shirt.

Two of the three packages from Japan came from the same address, though I have acquired them from different sources. They both contained KIKS TYO T-Shirts. One of them is a Aki Hoshino Limited Edition model (see also May 15th, sizeXL), the other one is a G-Shock and HTML Shop Collaboration T-Shirt (XS).

The last package contained of course two new models of the Dawn Black series.  The first box contained the AWG-525A, an analogue 5 band Waveceptor model, the other box the GW-5625A, the 3 band Waveceptor model (1 band USA, 2 bands Japan). Too bad they didn't use this series to introduce a 5 band GW-5600 model. But then again, we are just at the black dawn of the G-Shock 25th Anniversary!

The last two of the Dawn Black series, a GW-5525A and a GW-9025A, are already on their trip to the Netherlands, so if there is no delay, they will arrive this week.

I noticed in my administration that my collection has reached the magical number of 365 G-Shock's!

I hate waiting... still no package arrived, while a lot is o the way. In the mean time I finally bought a G-2500-3V, a model I wanted for a long time, but every time missed. The last time I ordered one, it was simply out of stock. The seller offered me the black version, but I wanted the olive drab with amber display. I found one on a forum sold by someone I know quiet well.  For $25.- shipped, I couldn't let this one go. It was shipped Friday, so it will be here in a few days.

Just when you thought you have seen everything... It's not fair... Casio comes with this:

a red "Team Land Cruiser Toyota Auto Body" Mudman. Why didn't they release it before the Dakar race... This red monster is screaming my name!  And this with the rumors in Japan there is going to be a re-release version of the DW-001 Jason and a new G-Shock book. Where will it end??? Will my wallet survive...

Still no sign of the Ralliart G-Shock too, while it should be posted a week ago in Belgium. Normally it would have been here in a few days...

Long day today. Bram had to be in the swimming pool at 8:00, so no long sleeping on Saturday. Bram has a sort of private lessons and it begins to bear fruits. Today he swum alone in the deep competition pool. This is a proud dad writing!

Today I got a package at the door. I was expecting several packages, as you probably have read here, but not one from the U.K. To my big surprise Alan (Tribe125) gave me his Front Flipper (G-8000-1VER). He always keeps his collection down to 10 pieces and he recently acquired a Omega Seamaster. I guess he knew it was somewhere high on my wanted list for a long time. I took some pics of it and have made a page for it here.

I also made a page for the gold tone DW-6900. I also updated the Triple Eyed Devils page, since there were quiet some more missing...

I made a load of pictures and selected the best to make a page of my Dawn Black Frogman. Come over and have a look. I hope that the set will be complete soon. There are 2 other models sent of from Japan right now.

Also my gold tone DW-6900 arrived from Australia. Probably his Jam'in Color and Precious Heard brothers will arrive soon.

Since Monday Bram walks for 4 days every evening 5 kilometer (3.1 miles), which is a tradition for school youth. Tuesday I walked with him (and the kids of his school) and tonight is the final night. He's very excited for it. Eva will be at work, so I will be the only one walking with him, but Eva will stand along the route.

Tuesday, June 5th, 2007

The long wait is over. My Dawn Black Frogman arrived late this afternoon. It's Awesome. The gold accents are great. Totally unexpected it also  has a gold colored back. A next Dawn Black will be in the mail soon. What a great watch and what a great box in comes it.

It must not get weirder. I found a mail of KIKS®Tyo in my inbox with the announcement of the new triple collaboration sneakers of KIKS®Tyo, New Balance and G-Shock. I'm normally not a real sneaker freak, but these look awesome!

Another great item is a silver DW-5600 shaped G-Ring designed by Nano Universe. Maybe even designed after the N.U. model  released about a year ago. It is a bit pricey (lets say 1.5 Frogman), but a beautiful piece for the pure vintage G-Shock collector! Also Baseball caps are coming up. Not sure which brand collaborates with that, but from what I have seen they look very good!

To make me complete freak out.... There is also a G-Shock T.I.M.E Tour (The Individual Music Entertainment) Party T-Shirt... I'm completely freaking out here in Europe, because I think these T's are completely unfindable for me.... Well, I suppose I must, like you probably too, have to do with this poor picture

(Thanks to Dragon Jade for pointing me to the G-Shock Party website)

I just checked the track and trace of the Japanese Post. My Dawn Black Frogman has:

 departed!

Lets hope the customs don't hold it up, so I have it half way next week.

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

I got a very happy message this morning from Japan. My complete set of Dawn Black has arrived there. It will take a while to get them all here, because I want them to be sent separate. I want to avoid an enormous customs bill if they are caught while shipped together. It was good to hear the price of the complete set was around €200.- cheaper than I had saved before, so I already ordered the new GW-9100K-7JR, that's out next month.  I missed the 2 white Frogman releases in 2005 and 2006, so I didn't want to miss the 2007 I.C.E.R.C. release.

I got a big bunch of pictures by two new G-People recently.

First Michael from Romania, better known as Mike or Robocopu on the G-Shock Forum. He asked me to help for a rechargeable battery for his Raysman. Well, I will go out to look for one here.

Second is Otto from Florida, USA. He actually was asking me advice for a DW-6100 Bezel, but he sent me a picture of him with a huge fish (a Mahi Mahi). When I asked him if the picture was meant for the G-People section, I got a second load of pictures of him and his family.

I will be very busy the forthcoming days. Friday we have a 24 hours lessons marathon on school. We (the Chemistry section) have made two special programs. I have to arrange a lot and make many solutions and other things (I'm luckily quiet far in my preparations, pffff...). I have classes from 19:00 to 21:00 and 03:00 to 06:00. Saturday we have a Good Bye dinner (probably I will see this more as breakfast). A colleague is leaving our section. Sunday afternoon we are expected at a Birthday drink by friends, probably ending very late. Luckily I can have some rest Monday at school.....(not).

Monday, May 28th, 2007

I definitively suffer Triple Eyed Blues. I ordered a white gold Precious Heart and a yellow green Jam'in Color model this morning and am lurking to a gold DW-6900. What the hack, I just bought it while I write this... Three Triple Eyed Devils within a few hours.... Here you have the pictures I have from the sellers.

Actually I have also another DW-6900 on the way from Belgium, I kept silent about. With the help of some experts it's identified as a Ralliart (Mitsubishi Racing Division)  model. I hope that one to have at the end of next week. For the rest I probably have to test my patience

I have made some pictures of my new "Flexfit" G-Shock Cap and finally put up a page for it. Martin, I'll hope yours will arrived soon (indeed, only the cap). So, that's all folks, off to help Bram making his Supermarket

A long time not buying G-Shock's make me itchy... It won't be long until the Dawn Black will be official released. I've seen the first live picture of the Frogman in box already. Also pre-order options on Yahoo Japan end around ¥30,000, so collectors in Japan are getting nervous.

I hope I manage to get them all, but I have my eyes also a bit focused on other watches, that I have been wanting for a long time. For a long time I wanted a green/yellow Jam'in Color DW-6900 to wear. I had a stock picture of one open on my computer this evening, when Eva said: "That's a nice model!".  Well, these kinds of comments of here are quiet rare. I'm also itchy about a Precious Heart model. Should I say I have the Triple Eyes Blues?

I got a nice G-Shock Baseball cap in this week. Although it looks a bit like the 2nd edition of the European cap, it is a completely different cap. I also got an extra one for a friend of me in the UK who was wanting a G-Shock cap for long (I believe he asked me about 1 year ago for the first time). Anyway, if he got the cap, there is no excuse for him to join my G-People page (and I know he frequently reads my news). I still haven't taken pics of it, I know a shame, because you don't need many pics for such page. I was planning to do it today, but I went with Bram to an air show, so we had dinner late. maybe tomorrow. You will have to do it with this picture I took at school. This girl took the cap when I was looking for a decent box to ship the cap.

I got a mail from a Dutch G-Shock collector today, who was some kind of surprised he couldn't find anything about a DW-9000 model. Although the popularity of the DW-9052, which looks practically the same as the DW-9000C-1V, I did not have a DW-9000 until around the beginning of this year. I even noticed I didn't mention it in my news section. Of course I immediately dived into my collection to find  my DW-9000 to fill this gap on G-Peopleland. I took some pictures  and made up a page. Thanks for your mail, Maurice!

When I took this pictures you could see the excessive wear on the bezel and band, giving it character. There is a Japanese word for these kinds of phenomenon' s that can be interpreted on all kinds of subjects. It's called Wabi-Sabi. I hope to add a story about this subject in my stories section, written by an expert on Japanese watches and culture.

I changed hosting type at my website host. I found out a much cheaper setup, but had to move my website to another server. Therefore my website was offline for some time today and even if you can read this, some pages will not yet be available. My website consists of 5128 files (most of them pictures), so it might take some time to get them all uploaded. I also got some upload problems, but they seem all solved now. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

I placed some of the pictures Jochen sent me last week of the Bike The Rock Heubacher Mountain Bike Festival 2007 in his profile. Check out these great pictures!

I came home earlier today. It seems that a beginning sinusitis is playing up. Since I have cards for a De La Soul concert tomorrow, I hope I can stop it at it's roots. I would not like to miss this unique concert.

I saw a picture of a great KIKS®Tyo  collaboration T-Shirt with Aki Hoshino (an in Japan popular bikini model) and G-Shock. I tried contacting KIKS®Tyo, but I still got no answer, so I guess this ltd ed. T-Shirt is already sold out.

When browsing the international shop, I could not resist another T-Shirt of the forthcoming ltd Aki Hoshino collection of June 2007.

Talking of T-Shirts, I'm planning to make a small amount of T-Shirts next year, to celebrate 5 years G-Peopleland. I prefer silk screen print, probably two colour print, on high quality cotton shirts. Setting up a silk screen print is quiet expensive, so I hope to save enough funds to make my dream real.

Yesterday I spoke with Jurphaas on the phone. He wanted to order a model from the Dawn Black Collection. He was choosing between the GW-5625 and the AWG-525. I didn't really need to convince him to choose the AWG-525, because that version is a 5 band Waveceptor model. Casio, when do you make a 5 band GW-5600 model??? There isn't even a European version of this classic and popular model...

Friday, May 11th, 2007

When I checked the page of  Gerald at our school's Mediatheque,  I noticed the a little nightmare. I saw the screen flashing and a nasty Pop-Up appeared. At the beginning of April, when Motigo took over Webstats4U, these Pop-Up's were gone, but unfortunately, only for just a little longer than a month. I edited 14 pages with these nasty and irritating pop-ups, so I hope it won't turn up again.

Almost a year ago I obtained a Muscle Time. I even took pictures of it, but somehow I couldn't get good looking pictures. Actually I forgot about it. I took it with me on vacation to France and I can assure you the alarm is so loud, you can wake up an entire camping! Recently I saw a post of a Muscle Time again, so I thought I should re-take good pictures. Yesterday I took a lot of pictures and made up a page.

Jochen sent me a batch of great action pictures he took at a bike park. There is a nice close up of a rider with a G-Shock. The only problem is he sent the pictures yesterday morning, filling my 15 Mb mailbox for 112%. Therefore I couldn't check my (web-)mail whole day. Now the problem is solved... I think I should put up some of Jochen's pictures, because they are of great quality (and I have seen a set of awesome wheels!!!).

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

Since I'm saving money for the Black dawn, I don't have a new G to show for quiet some time now (well, it feels that way).

Queensday (April 30th) was again a great day this year, and so was Liberty Day (May 5th). I went to a Dance event with some great DJ's. DJ Fonkerman and DJ Misjah were very good. The live performance of Secret Cinema was a great and worthy final of the event. The live version of "Hard Grooving" was really HARD Grooving!!!! Awesome.

I have been contacted by several people who wanted to join the G-People. Only one person actually took the leap to sent me pictures, but what kind of pics!  Gerald is a Dog Musher. He owns 6 Siberian Huskies (Sledge Dogs) and he was 2nd at the European Championships last year. When he first wrote me I told him an A.D.M.A. (Alaska Dog Mushers Association) Codename would be his perfect watch. He told me one was on the way and as soon as he got it, he would sent me pictures. Well, that happened yesterday. He posed with his lead Dog Goffy and his new Codename and sent me also pics of his dogs, his races and his collection. I think I made up a nice page for him.

Just to be very certain I contacted my source for the Dawn Black series. He told me he gets 1 or two complete series only. The first one was reserved for me. I know the demand for the Frogman is very high in Japan and probably also world wide. I found a Japanese page about the emission of this series. It will be released May 31st. The GW-225 will be a limited edition of 19,000 (strange number), so  I guess there will be one for everyone who wants it (well, I hope so). I hope I can hold myself not spending money on other G-Shock's in between, which is very hard for me actually. The Jam'in Color G-5500's are looking great and so do the gradient DW-5600's.....

Thursday, April 26th, 2007

I got a lot of congratulations of my 4th year "G-Peopleland" the past week. I think this one was very special. It's from Rasmus in Denmark with a tribute to me. It's very special! Of course thanks to everyone who wrote me a message.

After a long wait, the Riseman "Gridstone" arrived at my door yesterday. According to the stamp it had traveled 20 days from the opposite side of the world. I always try to look positive, that's still 400% faster than Jules Verne's "Le Tour du Monde en Quatre-Vingts jours"

The new models of May 2007 were already presented on G-Shock Japan. I read that a big Japanese shop already had a stop in preordering the 25th Anniversary Frogman. I hope Casio will produce enough of this model to satisfy every collector in the world. I'm curious if it already has a nickname. I think Goldeneye would be a perfect name;-)

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

I just checked my start page and saw last Saturday it was already 4 years ago I started G-Peopleland. I was thinking doing something for my close G-Peopleland/G-Forum friends next year as I have my first Lustrum.

I received a Nano Universe DW-5600 about a week ago. Though I wasn't warm for this model when it was released, but now I have it, I fell in love. It's very dark brown, gold buttons and a gold/yellow face. I took some pictures with a new improvised light set-up, inspired by a wire hanger set-up used by W.I.S. Chris Moy (a watch collector with probably the widest range of watches I know). I think the results were not bad at all.

Last week I took pictures of a student wearing a Baby-G. She's walking around the labs a lot, while she's finishing several chemical projects. I think I should make a G-People page for her (and from a UK friend of me too, I saw a very great page of him working for Comic Relief, a few weeks ago).

The past years I have not been very active with my band, since we won the title "Best Dance Act" from our province. I had some problems with my Novation Drum station. I read somewhere that these problems occurred with the older Power supply, so a week ago I ordered a new one. It arrived a few days ago and the first tests are very positive. I need to make more room on the hard drive of the Hard Disk recording Computer, but I am working on new tracks. I also made a profile on MySpace, but it's not a music profile. When I'm going over to a new hosting package I will make a new Music profile on MySpace, so I can upload some MP-3's and video's. I must say MySpace is a great meeting place for musicians. I recently got a message of Luc van Acker (Revolting Cocks, Arbeid Adelt!) and another drumming G-Shock lover.

The 110 Volt Lovers house DJ's Bleephead and Rocstar are playing in a local pub with NoisyLois in may. I just got the invitation. Sounds like a great night.

Easter Monday, April 9th, 2007

A few weeks ago I won a nice new "Tough Tested" T-Shirt on eBay. I had to bid up to other avid German Collectors, so I had to pay a relative high price for such a basic T-Shirt. It's the only one I have ever seen. I guess these are used at some kind of G-Shock promotion. This shirt wasn't worn yet. Probably they are not made in the large numbers as the "Get Tough" shirt that was easily to find for a long time.

Today we went to a Kite festival on the west beach of our island (Zoutelande). I shot about 100 pictures in less than an hour. It was great to see. When I studied I liked building (simple) kites, mostly box kites. My last one ended up in a high voltage line near The Hague.

I posted a review with dozens of pictures and even three movies on this page. I think it's worth a visit.

Easter Sunday, April 8th, 2007

It's been a bright sunshiny day today and we have been out with the family whole day. We walked along the sea, watching the ships go by. Here a pic of Bram "selling Fish". And I'm happily writing down my news update with my new PDA stylus.

Last week I helped out a friend in Germany to get his holy grail, the Club Style G-7501 (cream colored with negative display). It wasn't easy to get, but today I got the message the watch arrived yesterday, accompanied with some great photo's. Congratulations Klaus, it was a pleasure to help you!

Picture: Klaus

Yesterday I was a cameraman for a friend who is a VJ. It was a great show yesterday, with the Paris Dandies as great main act (with guitarist Danny Lademacher, of Herman Brood's Wild Romance).

William Hoogteying

A good friend from the other side of the Earth offered me a very good DW-9100-1BV Riseman "Gritstone" for a real good price. Since I have no yellow accented Riseman, I loved to have it, so I bought it. It could be here in a week or so. Of course the Easter Weekend here (beginning from Friday and ending tomorrow) and probably there too will slow down the arrival a bit. There goes my saving up for the Dawn Black series...

Home made animation for Bram: "The Race"

I found some interesting material about Daft Punk's new movie Electroma. Although they have said there is no intention to release this movie on DVD, it is only played on the movie festival of Cannes and is playing now in some Paris night cinema's. I found this movie on You Tube. Although the music under Electroma is not that of Daft Punk, the here chosen music fits right with the story of the movie. I really hope it will be available on DVD (please let it be region 2 or free) in the future.

I also found this great picture on the website of a friend of Thomas Bangalter. I think it's from Electroma too, although it looks like the story reversed. A Human who wants to be a Robot. Nevertheless, a great movie still!

We are all human, after all!

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2007

The past days I was working on renewal of some pages. Several of my favourite Master of G models, were also my first pages. On those pages you'll find my first attempts to show  pieces of my collection. Over the years I have improved my pictures, specially when I bought a much better camera.

You'll find my refreshed pages in the Raysman and Riseman section of the Masters of G.

I always love to write my news items on my PDA, but when I finished last Sunday's update, my stylus broke off inside the case. With some strong words, a lost screw and some sweat, I managed to get the lost half stylus out. Yesterday afternoon I took apart my computer desk, and finally found the missing screw. Now I’m writing the news with an improvised stylus. Has anyone had this problem too. I ordered a new one in Hong Kong, but it will take some time to get here of course.

The  G-520D-4AV keeps me busy. A few days ago I won another auction of one. That one will be one to wear as it arrives. I always thought I had one extra, but I found out I sold that one to my colleague Paul D.

This will probably be my last G-Purchase, before I go for the Dawn Black series, that will be released in May.

Jochen and his wife is visiting Thailand (I think it's his honeymoon, since he married recently). Yesterday he sent me great pictures of his holiday. On some of his pictures you could clearly see he was wearing his Gaussman!

I also saw great underwater pictures of Ilona, who is in her last week of her stage on the Seychelles. I saw she was swimming in a flog of stingrays. Weren't those dangerous? Well, as a animal trainer, she probably know what's best...

The company, hosting my counters on my pages, has changed. I looks like the nasty Pop-Up's are gone (I hope so). The former owner (Webstats4u) shook up a lot of owners with this nasty feature. A lot of schools (primary and middle schools) had counters of them on their web pages. Parents who were visiting those school sites were treated by very nasty adds. Some of them even contain porn! I hope this practice will be finally over with the new owner, Motigo.

Tonight I will have my monthly Beer Tasting Evening by PINT. It beloves to be a very special evening, there tonight's theme is "Stout & Porter". One of my favourite sorts of beer. Time to get out of bed and go to work ;-)

------------------------------

Sunday, April 1st.

"Daddy, your hair is green", were the first words my son Bram said when I woke him up this morning. "April Fool!....It is Sunday today, isn't it?". Well, he got a very good working memory module in his head.

Yesterday a big box with G-Shock magazines was delivered at my door. It was quiet heavy. A large part of the afternoon and evening I was busy taking pictures of them. It were too many magazines to describe them all, but if you go to the magazines main page, all magazines in the bottom picture, except G-Shock Jack 2, are the new magazines.

Yesterday my sister Thea came over for the weekend at my parents (she lives in the North of our country). Today we all went to the woods and the beach around the Oostkapelle (East Chapel) castle. Also my brother Paul's family joined us too. I haven't seen the pictures yet, but there must be some nice G-People pictures among them. If there are, I will update them on the pages soon.

I also took new pictures of two Raysman and two Riseman, because the pictures on these Master of G Pages are dating from the beginning of my website and are not as sharp and clear as my later pages.

With the Dawn Black series in mind, I have about finished the last things I really wanted for my collection.

My G-520D-4AV arrived  last week, finally. I won a second one, so I will have one to wear soon, if everything goes right. I have let it sent to my work address, so I think there will be no delivery problems.

A friend of me had a DW-5600 Nano Univers for sale. He offered it to me for a very good price and it amazes me he couldn't sell it earlier. With a bit of luck I will have it next week. It would be a great model to test my new filters for my camera that arrived today.

Another friend and colleague offered me a batch of 8 G-Shock magazines. Although I actually didn't had the money, I bought that batch. It's quiet shocking to hear what the shipping cost him...

I added a page for my GW-5500 with fresh pictures. What a awesome looking model!!!

I also made new pictures of my yellow I.C.E.R.C. Gulfman. Go ahead and check out the new pics. Several new pics are a bit hidden behind some clicks. The new EL backlight photo looks great! I'm planning to refresh several old pictures on my first pages on my website.

Friday March 23rd, 2007

I realized I had a G-2600 somewhere for years in a box. I believe that I even had it before I started G-Peopleland actually. A real forgotten G-Shock. I must say, it's not that flashy, but it's bright yellow colors make it hard to avoid. Actually I wanted the blue version years ago, when I saw one in a shop window, back around spring 2002. I took some pictures yesterday and made a new page. The background of this page was from a picture in a magazine of a bag, one of my students want very bad. The photo's were shot with my new Macro lens. I also got an UV filter today, but I found out I pressed the wrong button at the eBay Shop. I ordered a sun protector with UV filter/lens protector, in stead of the 3 filter set (UV-filter, fluor-filter and a polarization-filter).

Sunday March 18th, 2007

Finally, after a more than a week residence at the customs at Schiphol Airport, my GW-5500 arrived, together with an €37.- tax clearance bill. Not bad for a €106.- watch. Nevertheless it's a great looking model. The grey accents at the button covers do blend very well with the case in various light conditions.

My G-520D-4AVER arrived, but not to me. The seller reported that it returned to sender. A note said it wasn't picked up. We double checked the address, but everything was OK. Very strange, there I always get a paper when there is nobody at home. A big shout to Premierword by the way. Although it's a very big seller, they are helping me out perfectly. The problem is probably the result of miscommunication of the postal services...

Loads of interesting Casio news has become public. It looks like Casio is already preparing good for the 25th Anniversary of G-Shock.

Casio will re-release an new master of G in June. It will be the Gulfman, which comes, like the new Mudman in an 5-band Atomic Solar model and a conventional model (GW-9100 & G-9100). Specially the basic G-9100 looks very good. The release will be in June.

This year Casio will be sponsoring the I.C.E.R.C. of 2007 with several G-Shock and Baby-G models. This year there will be a great looking white GW-9100 in the line up, which reminds me to the yellow Gulfman that was released to sponsor the USLA (US Lifeguard Association). That one is on my wanted list.

Also Casio will release their special 25th Anniversary series, which are called Dawn Black. These series are black models (duh) with gold accents. Most surprisingly is the Frogman. For several months (almost a year maybe) there was a rumor that last years I.C.E.R.C. Frogman would be the last of the GW-200 series. In the Black Dawn line up the GW-225 is a big looker. It has some looks of the Black Helios Frog. Also the GW-5525 is looking very good. I'm starting to save money, because I want several models of this forthcoming milestone series (Casio, you are killing me!).

TToo beautiful picture of two sisters to throw away

Last week I ordered a special Macro lens and some additional filters for my camera. I hope they will get here undelayed and will fit my camera (you'll never know). I will wait for the filters to arrive before I take pictures of my new GW-5500.

Tuesday March 11th, 2007

I received some nice tools for changing batteries and special seal grease. Too bad most of the grease was outside the cup, but I managed to get most of it back inside. I believe my hands are water resist for a while.

The G-520D-4AV I bought about 4 weeks ago still hasn't arrived. It looks like this model becomes a second jinxed model for me. First one stolen from my house, now the second 4 weeks on route, while I'm used to receive my G-Shock's within 8 to 10 days from this Singaporean seller. Bummer.

Also not much luck on my GW-5500-1JF either. I received a letter earlier this week with the notice a package for me was intercepted by the customs. There was  no bill enclosed, so it is hold until they receive an evidence of payment. I sent my Paypal payment receipt Friday, so I hope to have it soon. Probably with a huge tax bill, since only for making up a bill over  €15.- is charged, and that for a €100.- watch...

I managed to find a new G-Shock shirt in Germany. It has a slightly different logo printed and it's size L, so maybe there is a different type of shirt used to promote G-Shock in Germany.

I got a scoop from the Tokyo Watch Fair. Casio will re-release a new Master of G. Also in June there will be very special models out to celebrate 25th years G-Shock next year! I think I'm going to save quiet a lot of money, so I can get hold of these models. They are meant to be very limited.

I am also looking for some extra  lenses and filters for my camera, in order to get even better pictures. Now let's hope some G's will get here too

Friday there was a debate tournament and somehow I got involved in sponsoring a team of two girls, Maaike and Nina. They called them selves translated "We can do a lot". They wanted me to sign their pink shirts, so it was very funny to see my name during the tournament. At the end of the afternoon I heard my team was in the finale, but unfortunately I couldn't be there. Saturday morning I met one of their finale contestants who told me she lost, what means my team has won!

Maaike will be added in the G-People section in the future showing a DWM-101

I got an e-mail from Ilona from the Seychelles. She had watched her page and wrote me that this picture was much better than the ones I had put there. Well, I will add the page soon, but here is a small preview.

Today it's my sister Mea's Birthday. Congratulations sis! Have a great day.

The mystery watch I showed here a week ago was of course a DW-6900WC of the World Coral-Reef Conservation Society 1998. Actually I can't find back which model (green?) this must have been, but it's a beauty with battle scars. No problem of course, G-Shock's are meant to be worn. The pictures on it's page are looks worse than its actual condition.

Another wanted beauty entered the premises... It's the G-2000 of the G-Raven series (G-2000BM-1MJF). Since I had my first G-2000, two months ago, I'm convinced this model is a under rated basic model. If there were no shiploads of fake versions (sigh) this model could have been a worthy successor of the DW-5600E.

The G-Raven version is, like all other models of this series, shiny deep black and has a reversed display. Casio is obviously referring to the bird. It's a great beauty so check it out. The background are screenshots of an Japanese Flash art website Alan provided yesterday on the G-Sock forum. It reminds me to a scene of THX-1138, the first movie of George Lucas.

I'm getting quiet worried about my G-520D I bought 3 weeks ago in Singapore from Premierworld. It's a reputable seller, but normally it takes about 8 days before a package gets from Singapore to me.

Not much new G-Shocks in sight I'm afraid... Last weekend I had quiet some unexpected things I had to pay. Well, I don't mind buying a Judo uniform for Bram, I think it will look sturdy on him. Last week I saw him running dojo when he collided with his head against another running boys head. Now he has a nice bump on his head, ha ha.

Shaun is back! And that's of course good news for every Aardman fan. Shaun is the smart shaved sheep in Wallace and Gromit's "A Close Shave". Now BBC1 broadcasts on weekdays Shaun shorts at 3.45pm UK time. Check out the little clip of one of the episodes below. Shaun rocks!

Wow, what a weekend. It started with a visit to one of my favorite breweries, "Het Anker" in Mechelen, Belgium. Every year on February 24th they brew the special brew on the birthday of the emperor Charles V. When we came home we went straight to an opening of an art exhibition, which appeared to be a culinary happening. All kinds of fondues with sheep and goat cheese were served, along with very good salads... Sunday I had two birthdays, so I could rest a little on my work on school today.

Today I received a watch which I already was forgotten a bit. No wonder, it took 14 days to arrive, but it's never the less a great watch and first of these series I own. Well, have a preview on the EL shots already...

I love those rays in the backlight, and of course you will always pleasure me with the 1289 (Triple Eyed Devil) module.

I ordered one of the new GW-5500 models that were released earlier this month. It's a 5 band Waveceptor variant of the G-5500. Maybe I will get them both in the future, but for now I  stay with the normal display version with the grey button caps.

I also bought a very special G-Shock from a very nice G-Shock collector last week. I actually wanted this model longer, but I knew other collectors wanted this model too, so I always missed it, since I don't want to be the one keeping all special G's from the market (and of course I can't afford that too, so I have to make choices).

I survived the Open House day of our school. It was a very crowded house, so I hope we will have a lot of new students next year.

Last week I got the last missing Mudman in the house. It's the grey Jam'in Color version (G-9000MC-8JF). It's a very nice model.

I got a nice offer for an used World Coral-reef Conservation Society  model. I love the Mantra Rays seen in the EL backlight, which I still haven't in my collection. Should be here within 14 days...

Pictures posted with permission seller

I saw a very nice T-Shirt design walking over the hallways of our school. I couldn't resist to ask if I could take a picture. Check out the smiley on the upper left, under the Walkman.

Yesterday an Ethno-G arrived from Canada. It took me some more difficulties to get it here, but I'm glad I have it. It's a model of the 2nd series, released in August 1998. The complete 2nd series exists of 8 G-Shock and 8 Baby-G models, two G-Shock's and 2 Baby-G's for every theme: Afro-Mania, Folktale-Mix, Chinoise-ism and Goa-style. Mine is of the Chinoise-ism theme. A big thank you needs to be shouted to Neil, who helped me with sending the money order to Canada.

I just bought a  G-520D-4AV to replace the stolen one, so now I have both the stolen watches replaced in about a week. It cost me about a GW-5500 though. Actually I have pre-ordered a GW-5500, which will be released at the end of the month. It's a 5-band Waveceptor version.

Sunday, February 11th 2007

A very busy week passed with a lot of good and bad things happened. One of the worst things was that I found out that was that between a few weeks ago and now two G-Shock's have been "disappeared" from my collection. Only two empty boxes with the manuals were left behind. I had some working man on and under the floor lately. I don't like to point out a finger, but I have a nasty feeling one of them could not take his hands from belongings that are not his... The first one is a G-520D-4AV "Cool Captor" , that replaced the other one I sold to Noortje. The other one is my recently required G-5500MC-8JF. This is a Unique model, since every bezel and strap is a mold jam of 2 colored resin. I ordered a new white/black G-5500 already and I'm trying to get a new "Cool Captor" model... This means I will have to wait a little longer to get the Jam'in Color collection complete

This week also happy things happen. I got three watches in. First was my second G-5500MC-8JF, which is great. I've been wearing it since it got in. The second one is the Grey Jam'in Color G-9000 Mudman. It's a great looking watch with a very special EL-Backlight. In stead of the known green and blue, this one is grey, like you are watching a black and white photo.

The third and last one is my first Metallix-G model, the red DW-6900GM model. I already took pictures of it and is proudly showing itself on it's page... The color is a bit strange and hard to describe. It looks like the bezel and bands are made of raspberry jelly. If you look close enough, you can see the little pieces of metal foil molded in them.

I also got the Fat Bottom T-Shirt of Primal. It's great in real. I think I have to gather a little courage to wear it. I have some time, because it's too cold to wear a short sleeve shirt on the bike now.

Tuesday we will have our open doors day at our school and I'm arranging all kinds of activities, so I will have not much time to update the site before that is over.

Monday, February 5th 2007

A very special package arrived last Friday. I sent out some Christmas Cards to people who are special for me and G-Peopleland (and I am sure I forgot some people too...). One of those cards were sent to my friend Dive Frogger in Japan, who was very happy with it and placed it on his website. What I didn't know was that he sent me a little package with a gift for me back. When I returned home Friday, a this package was sitting in the window waiting for me.

When I opened the package I first found a personal letter and two photo's. As a bonus a G-Shock wallet was included. Dive Frogger, I hope you are already back from your business trip, many thanks, I'm speechless.

I was tipped there was no DW-9050 on my website, while I was sure I owned one. After a long search in several boxes I found this nice marine camouflage model. Although I obtained it August 2001, I still remembered it belonged to a mountain climber. He loved the watch, but had bought a ProTrek model with Altimeter, so he didn't wear this one anymore.  Thanks 1414 for the tip!

A few days ago I ordered a new Primal Cycling Jersey. I had an eye on it for a long time and now I have finally decided to buy it. Luckily Primal Wear Europe is located in the Netherlands, so I won't have to wait too long... The Jersey is from the Rock series, which feature great album covers of rock bands, like the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd. Mine is from Fat Bottomed Girls of Queen and is maybe the best album cover on a T-Shirt. I'm curious how people will look at that cyclist riding around the island this summer

Although I try to calm down my G-Shock buying a bit, three G-Shock's are on the way. The grey Jam'in Color G-9000 Mudman is still on the road with a brown yellow G-5500 of the same series. Also is the red "Metallix series" DW-6900GM on it's way. It was sent out yesterday from Japan so I hope to have it here Wednesday or Thursday.

Casio also announced the release of the GW-5500, a 5 band Waveceptor model of the G-5500 with a pretty good looking display. It's also not a very expensive model, so I preordered one.  I hope to have in at the end of the month or at the beginning of March.

Last week I received this e-mail from Jochen in Germany. I thought it was nice to share it here in my news section:

Hello Sjors,

congratulations for your success of 100000 visitors!

I have seen today your new models. I must say that I am envious. They really look great!

I hope you will keep working on your site for the next 100000 visitors :-)

Jochen

I called him tonight for permission to place his e-mail and he couldn't believe it was me on the telephone.

I read Ilona's Blog (which is private) yesterday. She's having her own adventures on the Seychelles. I saw a great picture of her with her new Baby-G.  A week ago she told about a kitten, she had to look after. Yesterday she wrote the guard dog, a Rottweiler was trying to play with the it. Now there is no kitten anymore...

Back to G-Shock's. I got two new G's in the mailbox, straight from Chicago (where I get quiet some nice watches from last time). The first one is a Tough Label DW-9500 in silver. Tonight I discovered it has the same module as the DW-003TL, in stead of the DW-9501HH. The second one is a black DW-8500 Codename. A great model, with a Mud Resist case. I already have the red version DW-8500, which, of course, is cool too!

I missed a W.C.C.S. (World Coral reef Conservation Society)  model yesterday. I think it's getting harder to get rare models for a good price in Germany nowadays. I would have loved to have the Rays backlight in my collection.

At the moment a Brown Yellow G-5500 and the last Jam'in Color G-9000 Mudman (light grey/dark grey version) I miss are posted to me. I hope it will get here soon. Normally it takes about a week to get here. These two will be my first two G's in February.

A nice website of Japanese Watches Enthusiasts is set-up lately. There are 2 great G-Shock reviews already, with loads of background information. It's called GMT+9 after the time zone of their favorite Watch manufacturers. Off course a link is also found in the Links section.

I also found the website of the Toyota Land Cruiser Team website. The Land Cruiser Team rode in the Lisbon - Dakar rally this year. You don't have to read Japanese to find the Gallery. You will find some nice action pictures of the G-9000 Mudman. G-Shock sponsored this team during the rally. I'm afraid this site will be there temporarily, so you won't find this back on my links page.

The page with pictures of my DW-8700 is up. It's not a very special model, but rather pretty basic with an unique designed display, inspired by the DW-6000.

Yesterday the postman tried to deliver a package from Singapore, but nobody was home, so I had to collect the package at the post office today. Guess what, my Jam'in Colors DW-6900's arrived. They look even much better in real. I love the green one, I didn't expect it to look so bright. The red is of course also looking great. I took this evening a lot of pictures and now the pages are already on-line. Only 3 models to go to complete this series (as Casio not again releases other models of course).

Maybe nobody noticed (Webstats4U was fucking about again, grrrr), but Saturday we had our 100.000th website visitor.

Too bad I had to wait until Sunday to find out that it happened. What a nice timing for a crash....

Monday, January 22nd, 2007

A little bit ashamed I discovered my precious DW-5200C, which was a gift of a good G-Shock friend wasn't taken up in the Vintage gallery. I hope I have made it up by taking very special pictures of this vintage classic. The friend who gave me his watch told me he like the page very much.

Last week I found a very cheap DW-8700 in Japan. I was very surprised the parcel service already brought it along Saturday (three days after I paid for it). I already took pics of it today. I forgot the time when taking the pictures. Unfortunately the cleaning service left the building and activated the alarm system of our school. It was not really nice to hear all those sirens and see the flashlights when I went downstairs. I think that's going to cost me some money for the security service....

If I'm right two Jam'in Color DW-6900's are on the way to me. Also the other Jam'in Color will arrive Singapore any day now (I hope it's the right one this time). It will come along with a 2nd G-5500MC-8JF, that will become a wearer.

Tuesday, January 16th, 2007

Yesterday I received a GL-260-3JR from Germany. This good looking "Winter 2004" model, released in October that year is actually a specially G-2300 model. The olive drab bezel is very nice accentuated with a white inner ring. It came with an green/black camouflage double Velcro strap. Originally there was a second strap provided, but that one wasn't included.

I took pictures of my DW-002BM and my new GL-260 and made a page for them in the Music and G-Lide (with double Velcro's)  section.

For the first time in one two and a half month, Casio announced their new models. Actually only 5 models of the new Metallix Series. According the Casio description it's more projected on youth culture, with the classic popular DW-5600 and DW-6900 models. In this series all models have a negative LCD  and pieces of metal foil mixed in the resin parts. The red version (DW-6900GM-4JF) looks very interesting and might climb up high in my wanted list. Specially the negative display with the amber/red digits look very cool.

Though you might get a little worried about only releasing old classics in a new jacket, I hope that Casio will come up with something completely different later.

Remember G-Shock will celebrate it's 25th anniversary next year (as will G-Peopleland (April) and the W.U.S. G-Shock forum (August) also have their 5th anniversary!).

Saturday, January 13th, 2007

I got a DW-002BM (Bob Marley) this week. I love the DW-002 models. They are so nice and Big to look at. This one is mostly grey and black, but has finishes in Reggae colors in the display and strap retainers. Although the strap has seen a lot of wear, the case itself is in pretty good condition.

The G-light grey/dark grey Jam'in Color G-9000 a friend of me ordered didn't arrive yesterday. The shop had ordered the Cream version instead. I think the watch will now arrive around Friday, so I will probably have it here in about 14 days. The G-5500 did arrive, but has to wait for the G-9000 before it's shipped to me.

This week also my Gardener Shock by Michael Lau arrived.

Michael Lau started the Urban Toy Movement in 1997 and now these vinyl figures (kid robots) of various artists are highly collectible.

I guess I should try to find the Michael Lau G-Shock some day.

Nice little Bloody Gloomy Bear Pink Figure, as seen at Kidrobot.

I would like to thank everyone that dropped me a note wishing my father a speedy recovery. Thursday we called my mother if she needed anything from the shops, so she gave a list of things to buy. 5 minutes later my father called if it was possible to join Eva shopping. Although he can barely walk, he wanted to do his favorite activity again. He said he was very afraid to fall. It will take a while to get over it. I know this feeling. When I had the accident with my  bike (it's almost 6 years ago now!) it took me months to ride over that bridge again. A good think they have reorganized that spot. I guess I wasn't the only cyclist who had an unpleasant meeting with a car there.

In a few days (probably around Saturday next week) G-Peopleland has his 100,000th visitor. Sorry my counter is in Dutch, but you can see I have here 99401 visitors. I see there was a dip yesterday. Normally G-Peopleland draws around 90 visitors a day.

Monday, January 8th, 2007

An ex-student of me, Ilona, came by showing her new Baby-G, she needed for diving during her sea turtle research on the Seychelles. When she was a student on my school, she often passed by the labs for a little chat. She's a bit like Finding Nemo's Dory, but then without the short time memory loss. Tomorrow morning she will travel to Paris (which is actually not that far from here as it sounds) and fly to her apartment on the beach. Meanwhile it's still rainy and dark here...

------------------------------

Sunday, January 7th, 2007

My fathers situation has improved a lot over the weekend. He's able to walk a few steps without a help, but still has pain. Tomorrow he probably will be released from hospital.

I ordered second G-5500MC-5JF and the grey Jam'in Color G-9000 Mudman. It will take a while before I have it (about two weeks). I will have the G-5500 and G-9000 Jam'in Color models complete. Maybe I should start to try to get the DW-6900 models of that series too.

I made up a page for the G-2000 in the Basic Models section. The first series of pictures made with my new light box.

Late evening Update: I won a G-520D-4AV for a good price tonight! I was looking for one since I sold mine to Noortje. I believe I got this one for just a little more than what I sold the watch to her. I hope it will be here soon, so I can wear it again...

------------------------------

Saturday, January 6th, 2007

I received an SMS from my old student Ilona, that she had bought a new Baby-G. Tuesday she will go for her study to the Seychelles. She will be doing research on sea turtles (she just finished a project with seals in Belgium. She promised me to visit me at school Monday to show me her new Baby-G.

My father has to stay at the hospital. An orthopaedist and a movement therapist has seen him. He still can't move, so he has to stay for at least the weekend there.

Yesterday a G-2000 arrived from a good friend from me in Maryland. At first I was a bit disappointed about the size. It is about as big as the DW-5X00 models. After I checked the functions out, I am rather surprised that this model wasn't a big success. A lot of people like it when the time is shown in the Countdown Timer and the Stopwatch function. This model does that job and has also a low profile look, great for under those lo sleeves in office. As a bonus it has a heavy screw back too.

We went to IKEA Wednesday afternoon, where I bought a transparent clear waste paper basket, specially for taking pictures. I have taken some pictures of it, so I think they will show up soon on G-Peopleland.

Yesterday evening I also bought a G-Lide with double Velcro watchband. It's a G-2300 equivalent, but I don't know the model number exactly.

The DW-002 Bob Marley has been sent to me too. I'm pretty curious to that one. I wanted to have one for a long time, but it's a popular model in Germany, so I have been outbid quiet a few times.

------------------------------

Friday, January 5th, 2007,

My 71 year old father went out shopping in a supermarket, last Thursday. When he was finished he went to the check out. A few clients before him someone accidentally dropped a bottle of olive oil. Although the shop assistants did their Best to clean up the place, my father fell very bad sideward on the stone floor. Luckily he did a lot of martial arts in the past, so he didn't fell on his head. He passed out for a while. His left leg was folded pretty bad under his body and when people tried to help my father get up, his left leg hurt very badly when he tried to move.

At the same time I turned I was driving home after some shopping in Flushing with Bram, who kept repeatedly saying he wanted to go home. Until I approached the turn to my parents home. Suddenly Bram says, "I want to go to Grandma West". I watched my Mudman and thought, I could make a short stop there. When we got out the car I saw my sister in law walking with my fathers huge bike. Then she told what happened (the father had called her from the supermarket).

I dropped Bram at my by his grandma and went to the supermarket with my sister in law. My father was still sitting on a chair, with his coat stained from olive oil. He could hardly move to my car. My sister and law and me were happy that we lifted him into the car. At that moment my brother Paul also arrived on the parking. We all rode back to my parents home to discuss what to do with it.

We thought it would be wise to visit a doctor, but theirs was off duty. As we drove to the doctor on duty, it appeared that we had to park quiet far from the front door. My father had to lean on us the whole way, so I was very glad we had him on the doctor's examination table (as was my father too of course). Though nothing seemed broken, the doctor wanted to be sure and sent us to the hospital.

Luckily for us there were lots of wheelchairs, so we now could lift our father in one and drive him to the S.E.H. (First Aid). To cut a long story short... Although nothing broken, my father had to stay in hospital, since he isn't able to walk or go to the toilet (my Mother had recently gotten a New knee, so she can't do too much help).

First of all, a Happy and Prosperous 2007!

For me 2007 started quiet exiting. I celebrated old and new at home with my parents and my brother's family. We had a very good time, as we almost forgot time. Just in time Eva poured in the champagne. For almost 2 hours we have tried to get through my fireworks supply, but I didn't even cut half, as most of my family and neighbours went inside after an hour or so.

When my parents and brother just had left, around 3:00 am  my friends and band mates Bleephead and Acid Jack showed up in the back garden. I had just opened a bottle of Gulden Draak Vintage (Golden Dragon special brew), so I opened a bottle for them too. When we finished the beer Bleephead remembered that we were invited to a private party. Although I was actually about to go to bed, they convinced me to go with them down town.

This private party appeared to be a great underground party, with loads of party people around. There was no DJ, but a laptop spewing music, so I started to find out how the DJ software worked. Within a few minutes I found the kill switches and band filters and somehow the crowed lived up cheerfully. After a while Bleephead pushed me aside. He knew the program and knew where to get other filter plug-ins installed. He also knew the tracks, as he's more into progressive house, as I am more a Techno and Minimal Electro nut. The organizers of the party kept pushing us one beer after the other in our hands.

To my surprise Ingrid was also at this party as well as a lot of people I haven't seen for many years, so there was a lot to catch up. While I explored some place in the back I got my first great compliment of the year. A young  blond woman walked up to me, seeing me in the spotlights (as I was actually playing with shadows). She said: "What are you doing, being so gorgeous in  that light". My first night of 2007 was an instant success already by that phrase. It became a long long night, with lots of music and dancing. Around 7 am it was time to go to bed...
